Instal\u00e9 mi carpa en el camping Kalbus, a diez minutos del aeropuerto, y disfrute del lago, la naturaleza y los aviones que sobrevolaban el campamento. El s\u00e1bado bien temprano me dirig\u00ed a la convenci\u00f3n y previo pago de 43 d\u00f3lares cruc\u00e9 la puerta de entrada.<\/p>\n<p>Oshkosh 2014 no se caracteriz\u00f3, desde el punto de vista de la aviaci\u00f3n general y deportiva, por nada en particular. No hubo productos notables y novedosos como aviones el\u00e9ctricos, aviones coche o reactores unipersonales. Lo que s\u00ed se vio fue un poco m\u00e1s de actividad que en a\u00f1os anteriores, incluyendo \u00e9sta vez el \u00e1rea de ultralivianos que en las ultimas convenciones hab\u00eda resultado bastante pobre. Seg\u00fan datos del peri\u00f3dico de la convenci\u00f3n, las ventas de aviones civiles de uso general subieron este a\u00f1o. El sector de jets ejecutivos creci\u00f3 un 12,4% m\u00e1s en los primeros seis meses del 2014 con respecto al 2013. Los aviones con motores a pist\u00f3n aumentaron un 4% las ventas y los turboh\u00e9lices un 1,4 %. Combinando toda la industria el incremento es de alrededor del 4,8%, unas 1100 unidades y una facturaci\u00f3n de 10.900 millones de d\u00f3lares.<\/p>\n<p>Desde el punto de vista de la aviaci\u00f3n militar s\u00ed que hubo sorpresas. Un C-17 en la plataforma principal convivio con aviones antiguos que luego volaron en el show, como un MiG 15 hermosamente camuflado en gris, un F-86 Sabre plateado en estado impecable, y un par de Lockheed P-80 Shooting Star. No hay conflictos entre el show americano y el ingl\u00e9s, solo es cuesti\u00f3n de gistos y se puede asistir a ambos con una semana de diferencia, lo que hace f\u00e1cil su comparaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>No son la misma cosa, ni est\u00e1n orientados al mismo p\u00fablico, pero para el entusiasta aeron\u00e1utico son dos eventos important\u00edsimos. Ambos shows duran una semana pero Farnborough International Airshow (FAI) s\u00f3lo abre al p\u00fablico el fin de semana en que termina. Este \u00faltimo tambi\u00e9n se desarrolla en un aeropuerto privado y muy pocos pilotos vuelan al show en sus propios aviones. En el aer\u00f3dromo ingl\u00e9s, las tarifas de aterrizaje van de $660 a $770 incluyendo 4 horas de parking gratis. Tampoco hay camping disponible en el show brit\u00e1nico, ni voluntarios que ayuden con la organizaci\u00f3n, ni charlas o conferencias donde se ense\u00f1e a montar su propio avi\u00f3n. Farnborough se realiza cada dos a\u00f1os, alternando con el show de Paris, en Le Bourget.<\/p>\n<p>Lo que s\u00ed tienen en com\u00fan el show americano y el ingl\u00e9s son los fan\u00e1ticos de la aviaci\u00f3n y los aviones en exposici\u00f3n.
