Esta vez no consegu\u00ed el camping sobre el lago Winobago y me tuve que conformar con uno a unos 10 km al norte de Oshkosh; lo divertido fue que el camping es tambi\u00e9n un aer\u00f3dromo, por lo tanto el ir y venir de los aviones me despertaba sobre las 6 de la ma\u00f1ana.<br \/>En la AirVenture de este a\u00f1o 2011 note mas p\u00fablico que en la edici\u00f3n anterior (ver <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\/gaceta\/wp-101\/?p=11508\">aqu\u00ed<\/a>). Quiz\u00e1s la aparente t\u00edmida salida de la crisis financiera empuj\u00f3 a m\u00e1s gente a visitar el evento. Los n\u00fameros globales de esta Convenci\u00f3n en Vuelo, mencionan que hubo cerca de 545.100 visitantes y 10.000 aviones.<br \/>Me perd\u00ed el nuevo Boeing 787, pero pude ver y tocar el \u00fanico B-29 en vuelo, llamado Fifi. Fue impresionante ver a este avi\u00f3n, del cual alguno de sus hermanos llevo la masacre nuclear a Hiroshima y Nagasaki. Aprend\u00ed algo del B-29: Fue un avi\u00f3n muy avanzado en su \u00e9poca, presurizado y con todos los comandos el\u00e9ctricos en vez de hidr\u00e1ulicos. Definitivamente fue muy emocionante ver un B-29 sobre la plataforma y poder observarlo en detalle.  <\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\/gaceta\/wp-101\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/oshk4.jpg?w=1140\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Las aeronaves el\u00e9ctricas ganan adeptos seg\u00fan aumenta sus prestaciones. En la imagen el Electric Lazair, basado en un ultraligero dise\u00f1ado hace m\u00e1s de 30 a\u00f1os por Dale Kramer, miembro de la EAA (foto: Ricardo Viti).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Este a\u00f1o tambi\u00e9n se cumplieron 100 a\u00f1os de la US Navy, que a modo de conmemoraci\u00f3n ha decorado con esquemas de colores hist\u00f3ricos a sus aeronaves actuales. Como no pod\u00eda ser de otra manera, la Convenci\u00f3n en Vuelo 2011 se uni\u00f3 a las celebraciones.<br \/>Cada vez hay mas aviones el\u00e9ctricos y se va notando su presencia. Este a\u00f1o incluso hubo un helic\u00f3ptero el\u00e9ctrico, el Firefly de Sikorsky, que no ha sido probado todav\u00eda, pero se estima su autonom\u00eda en unos 15 minutos, lo cual no es mucho. Por su parte, los jets de ejecutivos de bajo costo se est\u00e1n consolidando lentamente, aunque la situaci\u00f3n de crisis no ayuda al despegue de ese mercado y no se sabe que fabricante ganar\u00e1 la carrera y se posicionar\u00e1 como l\u00edder del segmento en cuesti\u00f3n.<br \/>El sector que se esta viendo mas afectado por la crisis financiera es el del mercado de ultralivianos, que esta sufriendo el mal momento econ\u00f3mico mas que otros sectores de la aviaci\u00f3n civil norteamericana.  <\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\/gaceta\/wp-101\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/oshk5.jpg?w=1140\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sikorsky present\u00f3, entre otras novedades, al peque\u00f1o X2, tambi\u00e9n conocido como SHM-41A. La m\u00e1quina aun est\u00e1 en desarrollo y se espera que mejore sus prestaciones pr\u00f3ximamente cuando se incremente la potencia entregada por el motor (foto: Ricardo Viti).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>En cuanto a la avi\u00f3nica e instrumental, cabe destacar que los GPS han bajado considerablemente de precio y los IPad est\u00e1n ganando terreno para convertirse en el reemplazo de los manuales impresos y de los propios GPS. Sin dudas los tablets tambi\u00e9n acabaran transformando el mundo aeron\u00e1utico, dada la multitud de aplicaciones que van surgiendo d\u00eda a d\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>El s\u00e1bado por la tarde, sobre las 4:30 PM, en medio del espect\u00e1culo diario de aviones en vuelo, un frente de tormenta embisti\u00f3 la convenci\u00f3n desde el noroeste, obligando a los organizadores a cancelar todo el evento por varias horas. Por suerte el temporal amain\u00f3, y por la noche se pudo disfrutar del show acrob\u00e1tico nocturno, con los Texan y un planeador jet lanzando bengalas.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NmNps7-4Yv4?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"640\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Lamentablemente hubo dos accidentes importantes en Oshkosh, lo que vino a , un Piper Cub se estrello en el lago matando a sus ocupantes, y un F16 se salio de pistas sin consecuencias para su piloto pero algunas para el avi\u00f3n.<br \/>Como conclusi\u00f3n final del Air Venture 2011, puedo decir que en general no ha habido muchos cambios con respecto de la al a\u00f1o pasado, siendo la mayor diferencia rese\u00f1able el incremento del publico asistente.<br \/>Como siempre, y m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de los sinsabores de los accidentes, visitar la Convenci\u00f3n en Vuelo de la EAA en Oshkosh es una sensaci\u00f3n de disfrute notable, y ojala pueda seguir haci\u00e9ndolo por muchos a\u00f1os .  <\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\/gaceta\/wp-101\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/oshk3.jpg?w=1140\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">El F-16C 87-0296 `AL\u00b4 del 100th FS de la 187th FW tras el accidente del 28JUL2011. La m\u00e1quina en cuesti\u00f3n era la segunda de una escuadrilla de dos aviones que estaban aterrizando en el aer\u00f3dromo de Wittman, cuando se sali\u00f3 de la pista 36. La salida de pista cuando que el tren de nariz se plegara y que una gran cantidad de tierra fuera ingerida por el motor. Ante esa situaci\u00f3n se gener\u00f3 un incendio en el motor y pudieron observarse llamas saliendo de la tobera. Afortunadamente el incendio quedo confinado en el recept\u00e1culo del alojamiento del motor y fue extinguido por los propios medios del avi\u00f3n. EL piloto pudo salir de la maquina y alejarse por sus propios medios (foto: Ricardo Viti).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Chicago Airshow 2011<\/h2>\n<p>La edici\u00f3n de este a\u00f1o del Chicago Airshow se llev\u00f3 a cabo los d\u00edas 20 y 21 de agosto. El s\u00e1bado 20 la meteorolog\u00eda no ayudo y hubo que cancelar una buena parte del show. Pero el domingo 21 hizo buen tiempo y fue el d\u00eda que dedique para acercarme a la costa del lago y ver el festival a\u00e9reo.<br \/>Este a\u00f1o no se noto la presencia de ning\u00fan avi\u00f3n de importancia, como el C-5 Galaxy o el B-2 Spirit. Aunque el pasaje del B-1B Lancer estaba previsto, finalmente no se lo vio. El gran cambio vino con la actuaci\u00f3n de los Thunderbirds de la USAF, en vez de los tradicionales Blue Angels de la US Navy. Pero vale la pena destacar que ambos equipos desarrollan un espect\u00e1culo con maniobras muy similares.<br \/>Se los vio mas agresivos a los pilotos civiles haciendo pasadas m\u00e1s bajas sobre el lago, muy cercanas a los afortunados que anclaron sus yates y veleros pr\u00e1cticamente debajo de la l\u00ednea de vuelo de las m\u00e1quinas. <br \/>Por lo dem\u00e1s fue muy similar a las \u00faltimas dos o tres ediciones, pero con menos aviones, y mucha propaganda pol\u00edtica.  <\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\/gaceta\/wp-101\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/oshk2.jpg?w=1140\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">El concurrido ambiente del Chicago Air Show 2011.
