{"id":14515,"date":"2015-11-16T18:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-11-16T16:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\/gaceta\/wp-101\/?p=14515"},"modified":"2015-11-10T21:58:03","modified_gmt":"2015-11-10T19:58:03","slug":"william-juan-reynal-1931-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\/gaceta\/wp-101\/william-juan-reynal-1931-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"William Juan Reynal (1931-2015)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><figure style=\"width: 204px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\/gaceta\/wp-101\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/reynal1.jpg?w=1140\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">William Reynal en 1965 (colecci\u00f3n Pablo Luciano Potenze).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>William Juan Reynal, gestor de ALA y Austral desde fines de los a\u00f1os cincuenta hasta 1980, fue uno de los pocos grandes empresarios aeron\u00e1uticos argentinos, cronol\u00f3gicamente despu\u00e9s de Shirley Kingsley y Ernesto Pueyrred\u00f3n.  <\/p>\n<p>Hijo de padres argentinos, naci\u00f3 por un azar en Estados Unidos, siendo el mayor de cinco hermanos. Se recibi\u00f3 de Bachelor of Economics, en la Universidad de Nueva York, y sus primeras actividades estuvieron asociadas a la ganader\u00eda, tras lo cual retorn\u00f3 a Estados Unidos, donde incursion\u00f3 en diversos negocios, sobre todo financieros.  <\/p>\n<p>En 1958 se vincul\u00f3 con la empresa Aerotransportes Litoral Argentino, de la que fue director, ingresando as\u00ed al negocio en uno de los momentos m\u00e1s agitados de su historia en la Argentina.  <\/p>\n<p>Encar\u00f3 una misi\u00f3n imposible: desarrollar una empresa aerocomercial privada en un ambiente en el que toda la pol\u00edtica (en esos tiempos hay que decir civil y militar) pensaba que \u00e9sa era una tarea del Estado a trav\u00e9s de Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas pero, como consecuencia de su impulso, Austral L\u00edneas A\u00e9reas estuvo cerca de lograr su objetivo, porque lleg\u00f3 a tener una magnitud inesperada y su ca\u00edda se debi\u00f3, m\u00e1s que a errores propios, a un acoso pol\u00edtico.  <\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 204px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\/gaceta\/wp-101\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/tarifas3.jpg?resize=200%2C210\" width=\"200\" height=\"210\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Con los servicios de Sol Jet, William Reynal introdujo una novedad absoluta en el mercado tur\u00edstico argentino, donde el precio era uno de los principales argumentos de venta (colecci\u00f3n Pablo Luciano Potenze).).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Una parte no menor de su gesti\u00f3n fue el impulso que Reynal dio al turismo, por medio de Sol Jet, una empresa que pr\u00e1cticamente \u201cinvent\u00f3\u201d los charters en la Argentina, para lo que desarroll\u00f3 una amplia red hotelera y de servicios terrestres. As\u00ed, puede decirse que Reynal ense\u00f1\u00f3 a volar a las clases medias Argentinas, que hasta ese entonces no pensaban en que estos servicios pod\u00edan estar a su alcance y, por ello, merece un lugar principal en la lista de los impulsores de nuestro transporte a\u00e9reo.  <\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de Austral, estuvo vinculado al Banco Internacional, Liquid Carbonics, Cities Service Development, empresas de seguros y petroleras. Nunca abandon\u00f3 su relaci\u00f3n con el turismo, a trav\u00e9s de la empresa Alta Patagonia.  <\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n se dedic\u00f3, en las sombras, a la pol\u00edtica. Se lo sindica como uno de los financistas de la revista <em>Confirmado<\/em>, que curiosamente estuvo dirigida durante un tiempo por el comodoro G\u00fciraldes y, en el final de su carrera en Austral, vivi\u00f3 intrigas relacionadas con la estatizaci\u00f3n.  <\/p>\n<p>En suma, no fue un personaje perfecto, pero fue alguien que hizo mucho por el desarrollo del transporte a\u00e9reo en la Argentina. <\/p>\n<hr>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>El pasado lunes 2 de noviembre de 2015 falleci\u00f3 el empresario William Juan Reynal, fundador de Austral L\u00edneas A\u00e9reas y uno de los mayores impulsores de la aeronavegaci\u00f3n comercial en la Argentina.
