Esta soluci\u00f3n de ingenier\u00eda permiti\u00f3 evitar el complej\u00edsimo sistema de proas o popas abisagradas, que implican una desconexi\u00f3n mec\u00e1nica, hidr\u00e1ulica y el\u00e9ctrica entre la secci\u00f3n que se abre y el resto del aparato.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<hr \/>\n<p>El aparatoso Airbus A300-600ST Super Transporter, m\u00e1s conocido como Beluga, es el resultado de la modificaci\u00f3n del A300, ante las complejas necesidades log\u00edsticas del fabricante europeo para transportar componentes aeron\u00e1uticos, desde sus diferentes centros de producci\u00f3n. Las unidades de fabricaci\u00f3n repartidas por Europa deben remitir los componentes hasta las plantas de montaje final, ubicadas tambi\u00e9n en diversos pa\u00edses del Viejo Continente.<\/p>\n<p>La log\u00edstica de Airbus es tan compleja, que seg\u00fan el modelo, los componentes se fabrican en un pa\u00eds u otro. Dichas partes son enviadas a las factor\u00edas de montaje final en Toulouse, Hamburgo, Filton o Sevilla seg\u00fan el tipo de aeronave y la versi\u00f3n especifica.<\/p>\n<p>Lo cierto es que el dise\u00f1o del aparato responde a una l\u00f3gica de dise\u00f1o similar, a la ya empleada por Boeing en su B-377SG Super Guppy. En cuanto al redise\u00f1o de este particular A300, las soluciones adoptadas permitieron que su roll-out fuera en junio de 1994 y volase por primera vez en septiembre de aquel a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p>Las dimensiones de la bodega miden 38m de largo y 7,5m de di\u00e1metro, pudiendo transportar hasta 47 Tn de carga. Su particular geometr\u00eda le permite trasportar internamente cargas muy voluminosas que cargueros como el Lockheed C-5A Galaxy, o los Antonov An-124 y An-225 no podr\u00edan trasportar.<\/p>\n<p>La flota de cinco aviones Beluga est\u00e1 operada por la compa\u00f1\u00eda Airbus Transport International (ATI). Dicha empresa, adem\u00e1s de atender las necesidades de transporte internas de Airbus, ofrece la gran capacidad de bodega de la aeronave a terceros.<\/p>\n<p>A pesar de su impresionante porte, el Beluga no es capaz de trasportar las secciones de fuselaje del \u00faltimo y m\u00e1s moderno producto de Airbus, el A380. Los componentes mas voluminosos deben ser enviados por v\u00eda mar\u00edtima y terrestre hasta la factor\u00eda en Toulouse.<\/p>\n<p>En la actualidad el \u00fanico avi\u00f3n comparable al Beluga es el Boeing B-747 Dreamlifter, del que solo existen cuatro unidades. Todas ellas son B-747-400 refabricados a la nueva versi\u00f3n Large Cargo Freighter o Dreamlifter.
