Tener una fuerza a\u00e9rea es caro, por lo que la adquisici\u00f3n de los sistemas de armas debe ser manejada de forma racional.<\/p>\n<p>No tiene sentido para comprar aviones baratos pero incapaces de cumplir con los requisitos de la misi\u00f3n. Tampoco una fuerza a\u00e9rea debe perseguir a la \u00ab\u00faltima y mejor\u00bb tecnolog\u00eda si esto no se requiere para las hip\u00f3tesis de conflicto para las que debe estar preparada.<\/p>\n<p>Resumiendo, una fuera a\u00e9rea debe disponer de un sistema de armas que sea:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Apropiado: \u00d3ptimo para las misiones posibles, con cierto margen para los imprevistos, pero no \u00abpor encima\u00bb.<\/li>\n<li>Adecuado: Id\u00f3neo de realizar con eficacia las misiones que puedan recaer en la fuerza a\u00e9rea sin exponerse a un riesgo indebido.<\/li>\n<li>Asequible: Capaz de ser adquiridos y mantenidos en un n\u00famero adecuado dentro de los fondos disponibles y sin paralizar otros elementos de fuerza.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Cumplimentar todos estos requisitos parece sencillo, pero lo cierto es que no es tan f\u00e1cil de conseguir. En la mayor\u00eda de los casos los sistemas de armas a la venta han sido dise\u00f1ados seg\u00fan las necesidades espec\u00edficas de los clientes iniciales, debiendo los siguientes clientes adaptarse a \u201clo que hay\u201d. Las dos compa\u00f1\u00edas crearon el joint venture Textron AirLand, y el desarrollo de una aeronave comenz\u00f3 en enero de 2012. Esto le da al Scorpion un radio de combate o tiempo en estaci\u00f3n, de un potencial inigualable por otra aeronave de su categor\u00eda y que lo equiparan en potencial a plataformas mucho m\u00e1s onerosas de adquirir y operar.<\/p>\n<p>Un ejemplo t\u00edpico de operaci\u00f3n podr\u00eda ser una misi\u00f3n ISR con capacidad de ataque de precisi\u00f3n, todo ello en un contexto de conflicto de baja intensidad (3,5 horas en la estaci\u00f3n a 145 nm de la base con cuatro misiles del tipo Hellfire y dos LGB). Menos tiempo en la estaci\u00f3n podr\u00eda ampliar el radio de combate con las mismas armas algo m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de las 260 nm. Sin embargo, esos grupos son cada vez m\u00e1s organizados, est\u00e1n bien armados y son peligrosos.
