Las dos instalaciones que componen este ACAR son el Aer\u00f3dromo de Ablitas y el Pol\u00edgono de Tiro de Bardenas Reales. La naturaleza de las actividades que se desarrollan en ambas instalaciones hace que, operativamente, ACAR Bardenas dependa del Mando A\u00e9reo de Combate.<\/p>\n<p>Gaceta Aeron\u00e1utica ha tenido el privilegio de compartir una jornada en el Pol\u00edgono de Tiro con los profesionales que d\u00eda tras d\u00eda trabajan para que estas instalaciones sigan siendo un referente europeo en lo que se refiere a actividades aire-suelo.<\/p>\n<h2>El Pol\u00edgono de Tiro de Bardenas Reales<\/h2>\n<p>El Pol\u00edgono de Tiro de Bardenas (en adelante Pol\u00edgono) es una instalaci\u00f3n de entrenamiento que, tras m\u00e1s de 60 a\u00f1os de actividad ininterrumpida, sigue siendo un activo insustituible para el Ej\u00e9rcito del Aire.<\/p>\n<p>Con un per\u00edmetro de cerca de 25 km, el pol\u00edgono se ubica en el paraje conocido como Bardena Blanca. Las rutas de entrada y salida al pol\u00edgono est\u00e1n completamente estandarizadas, generando las m\u00ednimas molestias a las poblaciones circundantes.<\/p>\n<p>La entrada al Pol\u00edgono es autorizada desde la torre de control del mismo. El control es realizado por un piloto calificado en todas las modalidades de tiro a realizar. En caso de emergencia el controlador es un apoyo al piloto que tiene problemas. Para ello la torre dispone de todos los manuales de vuelo de los aviones que operan en el pol\u00edgono. La nueva reglamentaci\u00f3n es a\u00fan m\u00e1s estricta ya que cuando la unidad que est\u00e1 operando en el Pol\u00edgono no es del Ejercito del Aire, deber\u00e1 estar en la torre un oficial de dicha unidad. Fuera de estos valores est\u00e1n totalmente prohibidas las actividades de tiro en el Pol\u00edgono.<\/p>\n<p>Uno de las ventajas que ofrece Bardenas a las tripulaciones es que es capaz de proveer un escenario de entrenamiento pr\u00e1cticamente real, pudiendo realizarse ejercicios sobre blancos reales tales como aeronaves y veh\u00edculos. Esto permite que tanto los pilotos como los sensores de los sistemas de armas trabajen en unas condiciones pr\u00e1cticamente iguales a las que pueden encontrarse en situaciones reales.<\/p>\n<p>Se entrenan hasta un total de 15 modalidades de tiro, incluyendo el ametrallamiento.<\/p>\n<p>Dentro de las diversas modalidades existe la posibilidad de usar material inerte o munici\u00f3n convencional explosiva. El material inerte m\u00e1s habitual son las bombetas homologadas por el Ej\u00e9rcito del Aire: BE 6A\/A, BE 11C y LGTR Estas bombetas est\u00e1n equipadas con un cartucho fum\u00edgeno que permite al personal del pol\u00edgono determinar si el piloto ha hecho blanco durante el ejercicio (permite dar puntuaci\u00f3n y medici\u00f3n de la tirada, lo que sirve para la calificaci\u00f3n de los pilotos). Las limitaciones de seguridad proh\u00edben el uso de armamento real no homologado.<\/p>\n<p>El Pol\u00edgono no es una instalaci\u00f3n de experimentaci\u00f3n ni ha sido escenario de entrenamientos con material nuclear o proyectiles de uranio empobrecido. Durante los a\u00f1os de presencia estadounidense en el Pol\u00edgono los mayores puntos de desencuentro fueron precisamente causados por las limitaciones de seguridad establecidas por Espa\u00f1a. De hecho la Fuerza A\u00e9rea de Estados Unidos (USAF) no estuvo nunca autorizada para usar bombas con material explosivo. \u00danicamente desde mediados de los a\u00f1os ochenta la USAF fue autorizada a usar bombas de ca\u00edda libre rellenas de hormig\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Durante una misi\u00f3n t\u00edpica de entrenamiento, un piloto realiza varias pasadas sobre el pol\u00edgono, practicando diversas modalidades de tiro. La ubicaci\u00f3n del Pol\u00edgono es un factor que favorece la duraci\u00f3n de las misiones de entrenamiento. La cercan\u00eda a la Base de Zaragoza supone que tras apenas 10 minutos de vuelo las aeronaves ya se encuentren entrenando, optimizando de esta forma el gasto de combustible, etc. Esto adem\u00e1s genera una ventaja adicional, y es que en una \u00fanica salida una tripulaci\u00f3n puede entrenar no solo el tiro aire-superficie, sino la evasi\u00f3n de amenazas a\u00e9reas, reabastecimiento en vuelo, etc. En este sentido la Base de Zaragoza muestra nuevamente sus enormes ventajas.<\/p>\n<p>Una vez realizadas las actividades de entrenamiento la aeronave sale del pol\u00edgono y contacta de nuevo con ATC Zaragoza. As\u00ed es habitual la presencia de EZAPAC, EADA, SEADA, Infanter\u00eda de Marina, etc realizando misiones FAC en colaboraci\u00f3n con las Alas del Mando A\u00e9reo de Combate o con la Novena Escuadrilla de la Armada.<\/p>\n<p>En los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os se ha potenciado el entrenamiento de actividades directamente orientadas a misiones de mantenimiento de la paz en el exterior. Lanzamiento de cargas desde aviones de transporte, misiones de rescate, desactivaci\u00f3n de explosivos, etc est\u00e1n cobrando cada vez mayor importancia en el d\u00eda a d\u00eda del Pol\u00edgono.<\/p>\n<h2>Otros usuarios<\/h2>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s del Ejercito del Aire el Pol\u00edgono es usado habitualmente por el Ej\u00e9rcito de Tierra y por la Armada. En el caso del primero es habitual ver al Tigre y oros helic\u00f3pteros de las FAMET realizando entrenamiento de baja cota. Por su parte la Armada tiene presencia en Bardenas desde hace muchos a\u00f1os, siendo sus Harrier una silueta habitual en los cielos navarros. Los ejercicios conjuntos entre diversos ej\u00e9rcitos tambi\u00e9n tienen como escenario el Pol\u00edgono de Bardenas.<\/p>\n<p>Otros visitantes habituales son los aviones de transporte del EATC (European Air Transport Command). Cuanto en Zaragoza se realizan cursos EAATTC (European Advanced Airlift Tactics Training Course), Ablitas y Bardenas cobran vital importancia, ofreciendo escenarios realistas para el entrenamiento de las misiones de transporte a\u00e9reo t\u00e1ctico. En Bardenas se entrenan las maniobras evasivas que se realizan en presencia de amenazas terrestres.<\/p>\n<p>Si bien la USAF fue, por volumen de misiones, el usuario principal del pol\u00edgono durante los a\u00f1os 70-80, desde el final de la presencia norteamericana en la Base de Zaragoza el uso del pol\u00edgono por parte estadunidense ha sido pr\u00e1cticamente testimonial. \u00danicamente los F-16 de la 31st Fighter Wing de Aviano ha realizado Weapons Training Deployments (WTD) de dos semanas espor\u00e1dicamente en Zaragoza.<\/p>\n<p>En los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os el Pol\u00edgono ha colaborado las fuerzas a\u00e9reas de Italia, B\u00e9lgica y Rep\u00fablica Checa.<\/p>\n<h2>Presente y Futuro<\/h2>\n<p>En la actualidad ACAR Bardenas tiene una importancia capital para el Ej\u00e9rcito de Aire y por extensi\u00f3n para la Defensa de Espa\u00f1a.
