En Europa siempre hab\u00eda sido as\u00ed, pero ahora, por primera vez en la historia, estos preparativos incluir\u00edan a la aviaci\u00f3n como arma de primera fila que deb\u00eda desarrollarse en todo el mundo.<\/p>\n<p>No vamos a detallar c\u00f3mo se hizo, pero lo concreto fue que donde alguna de las potencias interesadas pon\u00eda una l\u00ednea a\u00e9rea, inmediatamente las dem\u00e1s trataban de poner otra que compitiera con ella. En este caso competir no era tanto una cuesti\u00f3n comercial, sino que se trataba de algo estrat\u00e9gico. Los franceses llegaron un poquito antes, pero los alemanes fueron mucho m\u00e1s contundentes, porque tuvieron mejores aeronaves y una direcci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica muy clara. Adem\u00e1s, los dos grupos crearon empresas subsidiarias que explotaron parte de sus recorridos y exploraron nuevas rutas en sus pa\u00edses de influencia. Las principales fueron Aeroposta Argentina y Aeropostal (francesas) y SCADTA, Sindicato Condor, Varig, y Lloyd A\u00e9reo Boliviano (alemanas). Nada especial en aquel mundo. Fue publicado en <i>La Prensa<\/i> del 18 de diciembre de 1941 (Colecci\u00f3n Pablo Luciano Potenze).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Pero un d\u00eda empez\u00f3 la Segunda Guerra Mundial, y lo que hab\u00eda sido una competencia aparentemente comercial se convirti\u00f3 en una guerra. Los norteamericanos eran los m\u00e1s interesados en eliminar a los alemanes, porque en el Atl\u00e1ntico sur operaban muchos buques mercantes que eran objetivo f\u00e1cil para los submarinos alemanes si \u00e9stos eran guiados por aviones comerciales aparentemente inocentes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>El Departamento de Estado no se anduvo con miramientos. Orden\u00f3 a Panair do Brasil que estableciera rutas en las mismas rutas que hac\u00edan los alemanes, y a Standard Oil que cortaran los suministros de combustible a C\u00f3ndor y LATI. El resultado fue fulminante y, entre el 15 y el 16 de diciembre de 1941 ambas empresas dejaron de volar.<\/p>\n<p>El problema para Air France fue distinto. El 10 de mayo de 1940 Alemania comenz\u00f3 la invasi\u00f3n de B\u00e9lgica, los Pa\u00edses Bajos, Luxemburgo y Francia. Tras una campa\u00f1a arrolladora, los alemanes entraron en Par\u00eds el 14 de junio y Francia firm\u00f3 un armisticio el 25. El pa\u00eds qued\u00f3 dividido en un sector ocupado por los alemanes, y una rep\u00fablica t\u00edtere en el sur, conocida como la Rep\u00fablica de Vichy.<\/p>\n<p>Air France dej\u00f3 de operar casi inmediatamente despu\u00e9s de la ca\u00edda de Par\u00eds. Cinco de sus aviones quedaron en el aeropuerto de Pacheco y fueron comprados por el Ej\u00e9rcito, que destin\u00f3 cuatro de ellos a LADE (dos Dewoitine 228 y dos Dewoitine 333).
