pero esto no evita que la isla sea sobrevolada permanente por un enjambre de aeronaves de los m\u00e1s variados portes, funciones y or\u00edgenes, tanto de d\u00eda como de noche.<\/p>\n<p>Todos los atractivos aeron\u00e1uticos de la isla se ubican, coincidentemente, a orillas de dos de los tres r\u00edos que circundan la isla (r\u00edos Hudson e East).<\/p>\n<p>Y, para ser m\u00e1s precisos a\u00fan, al menos dos de ellos en realidad flotan sobre el agua antes que estar instalados sobre tierra firme propiamente dicha.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Ciencia, tecnolog\u00eda y guerra a orillas del R\u00edo Hudson<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>El punto de inter\u00e9s de mayor significado hist\u00f3rico es el <strong>Intrepid Naval, Air &amp; Space Museum<\/strong>, que se encuentra en el Muelle 86 en la esquina de la Calle 46 Oeste y la 12a. El de <strong>Manhattan\u00a0Helicopters<\/strong> flota frente al monumento a los veteranos de la Guerra de Vietnam y la costanera FDR (unos 200 metros al Norte de la estaci\u00f3n de ferries a Staten Island) y es el \u00fanico actualmente habilitado para realizar operaciones de turismo a\u00e9reo.<\/p>\n<p>Desde este punto parten vuelos de 15 minutos de duraci\u00f3n que permiten a los turistas conocer la isla desde el aire.<\/p>\n<p>Los otros dos, por su parte, son de uso exclusivo para vuelos privados, aeromedicos u oficiales.<br \/>\nUno se ubica en la esquina de la Calle 30 Oeste y la 12a. Avenida (sobre el R\u00edo Hudson) y el otro en la esquina de la costanera FDR y la Calle 34 Este (R\u00edo East).<\/p>\n<p>En ellos, se aprecian las discretas y muy reservadas instalaciones de <strong>Blade Aviation<\/strong> y\/o <strong>Atlantic Aviation<\/strong>. mientras que al Hamilton se acced\u00eda en compa\u00f1\u00eda de un marinero que conduc\u00eda una visita guiada a las partes m\u00e1s interesantes del buque (plataforma de vuelo y hangares de helic\u00f3pteros, puestos de artiller\u00eda en la proa, puente de mando, casinos de oficiales, suboficiales y tropa, etc.).<\/p>\n<p>El plato fuerte de la muestra, sin embargo, nos esperaba en la cubierta de vuelo del \u00abKearsarge\u00bb, donde los infantes de marina expon\u00edan sin vallas ni restricciones cuatro aeronaves de su dotaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>All\u00ed, el p\u00fablico asistente no s\u00f3lo pod\u00eda acercarse a tocar las aeronaves o a conversar con sus tripulantes;
