Uno de los problemas inherentes a estas actividades es el traslado de los atletas, y el medio a\u00e9reo es hoy el \u00faltimo eslab\u00f3n de una historia larga y compleja.<\/p>\n<p>La informaci\u00f3n deportiva, por lo general, es s\u00f3lo deportiva, y no hay muchos datos sobre viajes de deportistas argentinos, pero hay evidencias de que los hubo. Argentina y Brasil disputaron la copa Roca a partir de 1914, en 1930 Argentina particip\u00f3 del campeonato mundial de f\u00fatbol de Montevideo y, desde 1939 los clubes rosarinos Rosario Central y Newell\u2019s Old Boys participan del campeonato profesional argentino, por lo que es evidente que el tema transporte est\u00e1 vinculado al f\u00fatbol desde hace m\u00e1s de un siglo. Lo m\u00e1s probable es que estos viajes se hayan hecho por v\u00eda de superficie.<\/p>\n<p>Adicionalmente sabemos que una delegaci\u00f3n argentina de aproximadamente cincuenta hombres y una mujer (Jeanette Campbell) parti\u00f3 en el buque alem\u00e1n Cap Arcona el 9 de junio de 1936 con destino a los juegos ol\u00edmpicos de Berl\u00edn. En enero de 1946 la BSAA inaugur\u00f3 servicios entre Buenos Aires y Londres con Avro Lancastrian, en julio lo hizo la argentina FAMA, con Short Sandringham, y en septiembre Iberia. La ruta a Estados Unidos sigui\u00f3 siendo operada por Panagra y Panair, que no hab\u00edan interrumpido sus servicios durante el conflicto b\u00e9lico.<\/p>\n<p>El primer equipo argentino que vol\u00f3 a Europa fue San Lorenzo de Almagro, a fines de 1946, en un DC-4 de Iberia que lo llev\u00f3 a Madrid. Su primer partido, curiosamente, fue contra Atl\u00e9tico Aviaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Pero a pesar de las nuevas facilidades disponibles, la delegaci\u00f3n argentina que concurri\u00f3 a los juegos ol\u00edmpicos de Londres de 1948 tambi\u00e9n fue en barco, pero esta vez en el <i>Brasil<\/i>, un nav\u00edo obsoleto, fabricado en 1902. Era una excelente publicidad para una empresa que hab\u00eda empezado a volar al pa\u00eds en 1948.<\/p>\n<p>Pero hab\u00eda algo que no cerraba en este planteo. Racing era, en ese momento, el equipo del partido peronista. Merced a gestiones del ministro de Hacienda, Ram\u00f3n Cereijo, fan\u00e1tico de la Academia, estaba construyendo con fondos p\u00fablicos el estadio Presidente Per\u00f3n, en Avellaneda, y hab\u00eda recibido otros dineros para pagar jugadores. A tal punto llegaba esta relaci\u00f3n, que el club era conocido popularmente como \u201cSportivo Cereijo\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Con estos antecedentes, la delegaci\u00f3n racinguista no pod\u00eda volar en una ignota (entre nosotros) compa\u00f1\u00eda holandesa, y deb\u00eda hacerlo en la empresa argentina, que era Fama. Las gestiones fueron muy r\u00e1pidas, y nueve d\u00edas despu\u00e9s, el 17 de diciembre, un aviso de FAMA puso las cosas en su lugar. Racing volar\u00eda por la empresa argentina.<\/p>\n<p>Los otros equipos lo hicieron como estaba previsto originalmente. Los compromisos deportivos de los tres equipos fueron muchos y, dentro del continente europeo se hicieron varios vuelos con transportistas diversos, aunque predomin\u00f3 KLM, am\u00e9n de varios viajes por superficie. El detalle de los pa\u00edses visitados fue \u00e9ste:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Racing: Italia, Espa\u00f1a, Portugal y Francia.<\/li>\n<li>San Lorenzo: Espa\u00f1a y B\u00e9lgica.<\/li>\n<li>Newell\u00b4s Old Boys: Esp\u00f1a, POrtugal y Alemania.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Si se hace un an\u00e1lisis exhaustivo, todo parece indicar que, en aqu\u00e9llos a\u00f1os, no hubo una relaci\u00f3n muy fuerte entre los deportistas argentinos y Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas.
