Los clientes internacionales de la compa\u00f1\u00eda europea son ahora mucho mas importantes que hace 40 a\u00f1os. Tanto que la modelo es asi\u00e1tica...<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>La modelo es oriental. De eso no cabe ninguna duda. El avi\u00f3n es europeo, tampoco caben dudas.  <\/p>\n<p>Todos los aviones de la historia han tenido un mercado objetivo, que hasta hace poco era el pa\u00eds o de la regi\u00f3n del fabricante.  <\/p>\n<p>Los ejemplos sobran. El Boeing 247 se pens\u00f3 para las rutas de United, el Douglas DC-2 para TWA, el DC-3 para American Airlines, el hidroavi\u00f3n Short clase C Empire naci\u00f3 para que Imperial Airways volara ala India y Sud\u00e1frica. M\u00e1s cerca en el tiempo, el Caravelle se dise\u00f1\u00f3 con la mira puesta en Air France y las compa\u00f1\u00edas europeas, el Vickers VC-10 se hizo para BOAC, el Jumbo fue una creaci\u00f3n de Pan American y el TriStar fue un proyecto a medida de Eastern. Algo similar pas\u00f3 con todos los aviones sovi\u00e9ticos y Aeroflot.  <\/p>\n<p>Este mercado pseudo cautivo de los fabricantes hizo que los aviones tuvieran caracter\u00edsticas propias de su destino presunto. Probablemente el m\u00e1s interesante sean los trenes de aterrizaje (los sovi\u00e9ticos con muchas ruedas para operar en pistas malas, los norteamericanos con pocas ruedas, cada vez m\u00e1s requirentes de pistas buenas, los canadienses siempre listos para usar flotadores y operar en pistas cort\u00edsimas, y los ingleses de los a\u00f1os treinta directamente hidroaviones porque no ten\u00edan aeropuertos, pero hay mil otras caracter\u00edsticas en los dise\u00f1os que delatan sus mercados originales.  <\/p>\n<p>Las versiones de exportaci\u00f3n, que tradicionalmente ven\u00edan despu\u00e9s, muchas veces ten\u00edan cambios para poder operar en otras geograf\u00edas. Claro que para llegar a esas otras geograf\u00edas hab\u00eda que hacer esfuerzos de venta muy distintos de los que se hac\u00edan para los mercados locales.  <\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 356px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\/gaceta\/wp-101\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/airbus-word2.jpg?w=1140\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">La empresa europea profesa su amor por todos... los buenos clientes. La gira 2012 por Latinoam\u00e9rica dej\u00f3 esta cabecera en la secci\u00f3n dedicada al A380 en la web de Airbus.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Pero algo empez\u00f3 a cambiar despu\u00e9s de la crisis petrolera de 1973. Los pa\u00edses que hasta entonces hab\u00edan justificado por s\u00ed solos las industrias aeron\u00e1uticas dejaron de tener tal supremac\u00eda, y los fabricantes de aviones, empezaron a comprender que ya no pod\u00edan financiar sus productos, cada vez m\u00e1s caros, con sus mercados tradicionales. Era necesario cambiar completamente el concepto de avi\u00f3n a medida de un pa\u00eds o una regi\u00f3n, para hacerlo a medida del mundo. No era un cambio menor, y no era solamente un cambio de ingenier\u00eda, era un cambio de marketing que afectaba las bases m\u00e1s profundas del negocio.  <\/p>\n<p>El primer fabricante que sinti\u00f3 esta realidad fue Airbus, cuyos primeros A-300 no interesaron mayormente a las empresas europeas, y debi\u00f3 salir desesperadamente a buscar nuevos mercados, y lo logr\u00f3 en dos frentes sim\u00e9tricos, Estados Unidos, donde pudo negociar con la agonizante Eastern, logrando as\u00ed introducirse (a precios muy bajos, es verdad) en un mercado estrella, y Oriente, donde con mucho trabajo consigui\u00f3 varios clientes muy poco tradicionales.  <\/p>\n<p>Y lo que hab\u00eda sido una acci\u00f3n comercial desesperada se fue convirtiendo en la regla. Los aviones empezaron a dise\u00f1arse pensando en mercados globales, y llegamos al momento actual, en el que el primer cliente del Boeing 787 fue una empresa japonesa, el A380 se vendi\u00f3 primero que nadie a Emirates y el primer cliente del A-350 fue Singapore Airlines. Las cosas han cambiado.  <\/p>\n<p>La imagen que acompa\u00f1a a esta nota es le presentaci\u00f3n que tuvo la p\u00e1gina de Internet de Airbus durante el a\u00f1o 2006.
