Era absolutamente l\u00f3gico \u2014y necesario\u2014 que sus l\u00edneas a\u00e9reas se especializaran en el transporte de animales en pie. No sabemos qui\u00e9n fue el primero que incursion\u00f3 en esta especialidad, pero es probable que haya sido TAIA (Transportes A\u00e9reos Inter-Americanos), una poco conocida empresa argentina que actu\u00f3 a fines de los a\u00f1os cuarenta y principios de los cincuenta, usando un Curtiss C-46. Su flota estuvo compuesta por un Douglas C-54, que oper\u00f3 poco tiempo, y varios Curtiss C-46 cargueros puros.<\/p>\n<p>Hacia 1960 aparecieron nuevas empresas cargueras, que generalmente operaron con aviones Curtiss C-46. Su mercado objetivo fue el transporte de ganado en pie, pero el gran desarrollo que tuvo la industria petrolera en aquellos a\u00f1os les dio un importante tr\u00e1fico de equipos para esta industria, procedentes de Estados Unidos. Entre otras, podemos mencionar a Aerol\u00edneas Carreras, Aerol\u00edneas Ini, Aerov\u00edas Halc\u00f3n, L\u00edneas A\u00e9reas Patag\u00f3nicas Argentinas, Transamerican y Transcarga. Por otra parte, en el transporte internacional de ganado, hab\u00eda prosperado Aerotransportes Entre R\u00edos (AER), fundada en 1962 por un grupo de ex empleados de la fallida Transcontinental, que estaba operando con aviones m\u00e1s modernos.
