Sus funerales congregaron una multitud probablemente nunca vista en Buenos Aires y se sucedieron homenajes de todo tipo.<\/p>\n<p>La aviaci\u00f3n argentina, un concepto bastante difuso en esa \u00e9poca, no dud\u00f3 en reconocerlo como su fundador y, con el tiempo calles, clubes y hasta el Aeroparque llevar\u00edan su nombre.<\/p>\n<p>Sus restos, luego de un funeral imponente, fueron depositados en el cementerio de la Recoleta, pero pronto surgi\u00f3 la idea de hacer un gran mausoleo en Chacarita, que se inaugur\u00f3 en 1937. Aqu\u00ed se eligi\u00f3 la segunda alternativa, con una alegor\u00eda del c\u00f3ndor ca\u00eddo. Muy cerca, est\u00e1 la tumba de Gardel, que llev\u00f3 hasta el extremo la imagen vital, al punto que se la conoce como \u201cel bronce que sonr\u00ede\u201d. La otra inscripci\u00f3n de la base hace referencia a que el monumento fue construido por suscripci\u00f3n popular.<\/p>\n<p>Con el tiempo fueron apareciendo alrededor del grupo principal todo tipo de placas de homenaje. El dise\u00f1o, hoy, parece una mala idea, porque las placas de bronce, con el tiempo, se ponen negras, y muchas de ellas est\u00e1n colocadas a mucha altura, por lo que se hace dif\u00edcil leerlas. Adem\u00e1s el mantenimiento no es el mejor.<\/p>\n<p>No obstante ello, es posible ver en los lugares lugares destacados homenajes de la Fuerza A\u00e9rea Argentina (1987), el Aero Club Argentino (1988) y la Armada (s\/f), y m\u00e1s atr\u00e1s instituciones tan diversas como la ENET N\u00ba 1 de Haedo, el Instituto Argentino de Historia Aeron\u00e1utica, la Escuela de Aviaci\u00f3n Militar, el Comit\u00e9 Electrot\u00e9cnico Argentino, el Leonismo Argentino, el Club Atl\u00e9tico Hurac\u00e1n, el Club Sportivo Jorge Newbery, los conscriptos de la EAM de la clase 1892, el Club H\u00edpico Argentino, el Aero Club La Platas, el pueblo de Chivilcoy y muchas otras que no se pueden leer por diversos motivos. Las que tienen fecha se ubican entre 1992 y 2012.
