Volotea, una operadora lowcost espa\u00f1ola, se encuadra en ese esquema pues se especializa en un nicho de mercado particular: el servicio punto a punto entre las ciudades secundarias de Europa.<\/p>\n<p>La aerol\u00ednea, que inici\u00f3 operaciones en 2012, ya ha transportado m\u00e1s de 20 millones de pasajeros desde ese entonces, y algo m\u00e1s de 4,8 millones en 2017. Ese crecimiento le ha permitido alcanzar la cifra de 1.000 empleados contratados el pasado a\u00f1o y ha creado otros 250 puestos de trabajo durante 2018. El resto de las m\u00e1quinas seguir\u00e1n siendo los cl\u00e1sicos Boeing 717 con los que comenz\u00f3 a operar, de los que ya cuenta con 17, configurados con 125 butacas. Volotea apunta a llegar a 2022 con una flota de un solo tipo, el citado A319, de mayor capacidad y alcance que el B-717.<\/p>\n<h2>Bases y rutas<\/h2>\n<p>La aerol\u00ednea vuela actualmente 293 rutas y planea expandirse a 319, con 36 nuevas rutas, pero con diez destinos a los que dejar\u00e1 de volar. La contracara de esta operatoria es que aproximadamente el 60% de las rutas de la aerol\u00ednea son estacionales. Esto es que est\u00e1n activas de abril a octubre, mientras que el resto (40%) est\u00e1 activo todo el a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p>En t\u00e9rminos de ciudades servidas, planea pasar de 78 a 83 n\u00facleos urbanos secundarios. La mayor\u00eda de los destinos de Volotea se encuentran en el sur de Europa. Estas tres \u00faltimas han sido inauguradas recientemente.
