Sus primeros aviones fueron cuatro Piper PA-31 Navajo comprados al Ej\u00e9rcito, y luego vinieron Turbocommander 680B y Fairchild Metro III, de los que fue el primer operador argentino. Tambi\u00e9n se construy\u00f3 un centro que lleg\u00f3 a vender servicios a terceros. Con posterioridad los vuelos se extendieron a las provincias vecinas. En 1987 se incorpor\u00f3 por leasing un SAAB SF-340A, y los destinos siguieron creciendo hasta que la crisis del invierno de 1989 oblig\u00f3 a reducirlos.<\/p>\n<p>Como todas las empresas patag\u00f3nicas, TAN fue beneficiaria, a partir de 1994, del Programa Integral de Desarrollo A\u00e9reo Patag\u00f3nico (PIDAP), un sistema de subsidios que defin\u00eda rutas y frecuencias de inter\u00e9s. Despu\u00e9s de muchas idas y vueltas, la salida fue el Decreto 52\/94 que, en resumidas cuentas, aceptaba que una empresa aerocomercial fuera argentina por el simple hecho de tener domicilio en la Argentina. Para la \u201cempresa de bandera\u201d fue una soluci\u00f3n, poco elegante pero soluci\u00f3n al fin, pero por ese resquicio se colaron varios, y uno de los primeros fue VASP.<\/p>\n<p>El problema fue que VASP no ten\u00eda en claro para qu\u00e9 quer\u00eda una empresa basada en Neuqu\u00e9n, que jam\u00e1s uni\u00f3 con el resto de su red. Se estima que el precio de la transacci\u00f3n fue de 1,2 millones de d\u00f3lares, a los que se sum\u00f3 una deuda de 3,8 millones.<\/p>\n<p>La nueva administraci\u00f3n tampoco tuvo ideas claras. Anunci\u00f3 de todo, hasta servicios de extinci\u00f3n de incendios, pero, a la hora de la verdad, liquid\u00f3 la flota y dej\u00f3 de volar con los inevitables conflictos gremiales.
