En la recepci\u00f3n del aparato y presentaci\u00f3n a la prensa congregada en el Grupo 10 de la FACH, asistieron el ministro del interior (S) Rodrigo Ubilla, el Ministro de Defensa (S) Cristian de la Maza, el Ministro de Agricultura (S) Alfonso Vargas y el director de CONAF (Corporaci\u00f3n Nacional Forestal de Chile), Jos\u00e9 Manuel Rebolledo lo que ejemplifica el trabajo coordinado de estas diferentes entidades para abordar el problema del fuego.<\/p>\n<p>La llegada de este aparato se gest\u00f3 con la visita realizada a California por autoridades chilenas el a\u00f1o pasado para revisar que medios a\u00e9reos que ellos empleaban y en qu\u00e9 forma. El plan inicial contempla una permanencia de 2 semanas a un costo de 1 mill\u00f3n de USD. El Dc-10-30 es uno de los cuatro que posee la compa\u00f1\u00eda y que corresponden a modelos de pasajeros modificados estructuralmente para el combate de incendios y se emplear\u00e1 en forma similar al Boeing 747 Super Tanker que estuvo en el pa\u00eds en el a\u00f1o 2017 y causo gran controversia debido a declaraciones acerca de su poca eficacia y la preferencia, por parte de CONAF, de enfrentar el problema con Helic\u00f3pteros y aviones menores. Su menor tama\u00f1o en esta oportunidad fue destacado como una ventaja ya que el B-747 solamente pod\u00eda operar desde Arturo Merino Ben\u00edtez mientras que el Ten Tanker lo har\u00e1 desde la ciudad de Concepci\u00f3n, disminuyendo el tiempo de vuelo hacia los incendios.<\/p>\n<p>El DC-10 posee tres tanques separados en la parte inferior del fuselaje con una capacidad total de 36 toneladas. Estos son controlados a trav\u00e9s de 10 programas de lanzamiento y pueden ser descargados los 3 en un mismo instante o por separado. La abertura de las puertas de cada uno de ellos, pueden ser reguladas lo que permite una gran versatilidad a la hora de controlar la cantidad y la dispersi\u00f3n de las descargas de agua o liquido retardante a soltar lo que le permite adecuarse a diferentes tipos de incendios. Esto sumado a una autonom\u00eda de 3 horas a full carga le permiten una gran persistencia sobre el foco a atacar. Como es habitual en el empleo de aviones de gran tama\u00f1o en este rol se ocupar\u00e1 un avi\u00f3n gu\u00eda de menor tama\u00f1o labor que nuevamente recaer\u00e1 en el Persuader de la Armada de Chile dadas sus cualidades como avi\u00f3n de observaci\u00f3n tanto visual como infrarroja mediante su Flir.<\/p>\n<p>Un segundo DC-10 tambien vol\u00f3 hacia Chile para unirse al combate del fuego
