generaci\u00f3n y los \u201cdrones\u201d de combate, la simple menci\u00f3n de la marca <strong>\u201cSkyhawk\u201d<\/strong> sigue provocando respeto y simpat\u00eda hacia este caza liviano de ataque concebido en la d\u00e9cada de 1950 para la aviaci\u00f3n naval norteamericana de la Guerra Fr\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>A m\u00e1s de sesenta a\u00f1os de su primer vuelo, el Douglas A-4 se mantiene activo y acumula seis d\u00e9cadas y media de m\u00e9ritos t\u00e9cnicos, operacionales y b\u00e9licos.<\/p>\n<p>Entre ellos, el de haber operado con 10 fuerzas a\u00e9reas y aviaciones navales de cuatro continentes, mantenerse en <strong>producci\u00f3n ininterrumpida por 26 a\u00f1os<\/strong> (1953-1979) y participar en <strong>cinco conflictos b\u00e9licos<\/strong> (Vietnam, Atrici\u00f3n Israel\u00ed, Yom Kippur, Malvinas y Kuwait).<\/p>\n<p>No menos interesante es que supo integrar dos <strong>escuadrillas acrob\u00e1ticas<\/strong> institucionales (los \u201cBlue Angels\u201d de la Armada de EE.UU. y los \u201cBlack Knights\u201d de la Fuerza A\u00e9rea de Singapur) y que logr\u00f3 por lo menos <strong>tres victorias en combate aire-aire<\/strong>, las que destacan que el diminuto \u201cscooter\u201d de Heinemann super\u00f3 holgadamente sus especificaciones de dise\u00f1o como un \u201cmero\u201d bombardero de ataque.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>A-4s para todos los gustos<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Esta noble aeronave tuvo buena aceptaci\u00f3n en el mercado internacional debido a su simpleza de dise\u00f1o y gran resistencia estructural.<\/p>\n<figure Ruberto).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Independientemente de ser un avi\u00f3n naval concebido espec\u00edficamente para operar en un ambiente embarcado, se adapt\u00f3 f\u00e1cilmente a las operaciones con base en tierra ya que, debido a su escasa envergadura (8,38 m), no necesitaba el complicado mecanismo de rebatimiento alar propio de los aviones navales.<\/p>\n<p>La cantidad de aeronaves construidas durante m\u00e1s de 25 a\u00f1os garantizaron por d\u00e9cadas la facilidad de obtener repuestos y el apoyo log\u00edstico, rasgos que los hac\u00edan especialmente accesible para fuerzas a\u00e9reas con presupuestos limitados.<\/p>\n<p>Cualquier naci\u00f3n que decidiera adquirirlo, no necesitaba realizar una erogaci\u00f3n significativa para su compra y mantenimiento.<\/p>\n<p>El tiempo tambi\u00e9n demostr\u00f3 que es muy adaptable a toda clase de modificaciones y modernizaciones, aspecto que se perfeccion\u00f3 en las \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas gracias a la miniaturizaci\u00f3n de sistemas y componentes electr\u00f3nicos.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, como el gobierno de EE.UU. tampoco lo consider\u00f3 un sistema de armas excesivamente sofisticado, nunca tuvo demasiadas trabas de orden pol\u00edtico o militar para su exportaci\u00f3n a los aliados extranjeros.<\/p>\n<p>Prueba de todo esto es que de \u00e9l se concibieron nueve y se construyeron seis <strong>versiones primarias<\/strong> y cerca de 40 <strong>variantes secundarias<\/strong> o evolutivas que fueron empleadas operacionalmente por siete fuerzas a\u00e9reas, tres aviaciones navales y una infanter\u00eda de marina; o que bien fueron evaluadas (pero no adquiridas) por tantas otras fuerzas a\u00e9reas, aviaciones navales\u2026 \u00a1y hasta por el propio Ej\u00e9rcito de EE.UU.!<\/p>\n<h3><strong>\u201cNacido para el combate\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A menos de dos a\u00f1os de haber entrado al servicio activo con escuadrones aeronavales norteamericanos, el A-4 tuvo su primera oportunidad de probar sus capacidades en lo que hoy llamar\u00edamos una \u201cmisi\u00f3n de paz\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>En el primer semestre de 1958, estall\u00f3 la guerra civil entre musulmanes pan-arabistas influidos por el presidente egipcio, Gamal Abdel Nasser, y fuerzas del gobierno de <strong>L\u00edbano<\/strong>, liderado por el cristiano Camille Chamoun.<\/p>\n<p>A requerimiento de este \u00faltimo, EE.UU. y el Reino Unido intervinieron en El L\u00edbano y Jordania, respectivamente, desplegando tropas para apoyar a los gobiernos locales prooccidentales en la que dio en llamarse la \u201cOperaci\u00f3n Blue Bat\u201d (murci\u00e9lago azul).<\/p>\n<p>El contingente norteamericano estuvo integrado, entre otros, por portaaviones de la Sexta Flota del Mediterr\u00e1neo que emplearon A4D-1 y A4D-2 en misiones de reconocimiento armado y como disuasi\u00f3n nuclear para un eventual \u201cescenario de pesadilla\u201d en el cual L\u00edbano podr\u00eda haber sido invadido por fuerzas extranjeras.<\/p>\n<p>Seis a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde, los Skyhawks norteamericanos volvieron al combate para desarrollar misiones de ataque a objetivos terrestres, apoyo t\u00e1ctico, interdicci\u00f3n, supresi\u00f3n de defensas a\u00e9reas y combate aire-aire a lo largo de la <strong>Guerra de Vietnam<\/strong>, comenzando con los primeros ataques a\u00e9reos a
