Paul Codos, un piloto de la aerol\u00ednea francesa Air Union, probablemente la primera empresa que estableci\u00f3 un servicio a\u00e9reo sobre el canal de la Mancha con horario y lo cumpli\u00f3, cuenta en sus memorias que, en su af\u00e1n de ser m\u00e1s puntuales que los ingleses, sal\u00edan en cualquier condici\u00f3n meteorol\u00f3gica, y que los vuelos estaban plagados de sobresaltos, entre los que se encontraba el p\u00e1nico de los pasajeros. Para tranquilizarlos, los pilotos \u2014en una \u00e9poca en que nadie pensaba en glamorosas azafatas\u2014 optaron por darles abundantes bebidas alcoh\u00f3licas y as\u00ed lograban que se durmieran o no prestaran atenci\u00f3n a lo que suced\u00eda a su alrededor. Pasajero borracho, pasajero que no molesta, por lo menos a principios de los a\u00f1os veinte.<\/p>\n<p>Las costumbres evolucionaron. Los charteros del Atl\u00e1ntico Norte en los a\u00f1os sesenta y sir Freddie Laker tuvieron bastante que ver en esto, pero hubo muchos otros.<\/p>\n<p>En la Argentina la oferta de comida comenz\u00f3 en 1924, cuando la Compa\u00f1\u00eda Rioplatense de Aviaci\u00f3n entregaba una canasta con un lunch a los pasajeros que lo solicitaban. Aeroposta Argentina no tuvo servicio de a bordo, pero en algunas escalas se serv\u00edan comidas y refrigerios a los pasajeros. Publicado en <i>La Naci\u00f3n<\/i> del 21 de febrero de 1977.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>El punto culminante de este esfuerzo de marketing lleg\u00f3 con verdaderas parrilladas, servidas en los horarios de almuerzo de algunos vuelos. Estaban prehechas y se calentaban en los hornos del avi\u00f3n, pero aun as\u00ed llenaban la m\u00e1quina de olor, y debieron ser suspendidas por la presi\u00f3n de las TCP, que no soportaban que su ropa quedara impregnada. Entonces qued\u00f3 demostrado que la idea era buena, porque la ocupaci\u00f3n de esos vuelos cay\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p>Esta larga campa\u00f1a publicitaria m\u00e1s gastron\u00f3mica que aeron\u00e1utica se cort\u00f3 en gran medida en el invierno de 1978, cuando la empresa cambi\u00f3 de imagen, lanz\u00f3 su lema confort plus y poco despu\u00e9s incorpor\u00f3 los primeros DC-9\/50. A pesar de este cambio, los platos siguieron siendo generosos. Hab\u00eda un vuelo que sal\u00eda temprano de Aeroparque para tocar Bah\u00eda Blanca, Trelew, Comodoro Rivadavia y R\u00edo Gallegos.
