En el sector internacional incorpor\u00f3 los Comet 4, y en cabotaje y regional Caravelle y Avro 748. Si consideramos la fecha y la magnitud de las incorporaciones, el proceso fue notable, no s\u00f3lo por la inversi\u00f3n, sino tambi\u00e9n por el cambio tecnol\u00f3gico que signific\u00f3 el pasaje de aviones de pist\u00f3n a jets y turboh\u00e9lices. <\/p>\n<p>La empresa pensaba en esos a\u00f1os que con aeronaves modernas era posible tener beneficios econ\u00f3micos. El tiempo dir\u00eda que las cosas no fueron as\u00ed, pero el intento se hizo. Podr\u00e1 discutirse si se eligieron los aviones m\u00e1s adecuados, pero no puede discutirse que eran aviones de avanzada tecnol\u00f3gica, con todas las ventajas y desventajas que esto significa. <\/p>\n<p>Esta flota, que la publicidad bautiz\u00f3 como \u201cflota del firmamento\u201d signific\u00f3, como todo cambio de equipos, la necesidad de encontrar un destino para las m\u00e1quinas que se reemplazaban. La decisi\u00f3n de Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas, comprometida con el progreso tecnol\u00f3gico, fue vender todos sus aviones de pist\u00f3n (DC-3\/C-47, DC-4\/C-54, DC-6, Short Sandringham y Convair 240), para lo que organiz\u00f3 un concurso internacional de precios. <\/p>\n<p>El problema fue que en esos a\u00f1os de incorporaci\u00f3n de reactores la demanda de pistoneros era m\u00ednima, y los precios viles. En rigor de verdad s\u00f3lo se vendieron tres Convair 240 (lo m\u00e1s presentable de la oferta) a Paraguay, que los utiliz\u00f3 para crear las L\u00edneas A\u00e9reas Paraguayas. Los DC-6 se usaron un tiempo en rutas dom\u00e9sticas y americanas, pero fueron finalmente transferidos a la Fuerza A\u00e9rea, y los hidroaviones tuvieron un fugaz paso por una cooperativa denominada Asociaci\u00f3n Argentina de Aeronavegantes que no prosper\u00f3, y fueron desguazados.  <\/p>\n<p>Los Douglas DC-3\/C-47 finalmente fueron transferidos a la Fuerza A\u00e9rea, pero un lote de Douglas DC-DC-4\/C-54 qued\u00f3 sin destino. No se vend\u00edan, y a Aerol\u00edneas no le serv\u00edan para transportar pasajeros porque los pasajeros ya estaban conquistados por los turbos. Entonces surgi\u00f3 la idea de promocionar la carga pura, al fin y al cabo eran aviones perfectamente aptos para este destino. <\/p>\n<p>El tema era presentar a Aerol\u00edneas como transportista de carga, algo que nunca hab\u00eda estado realmente en su vocaci\u00f3n. Este aviso, publicado en <em>Gente<\/em> del 23 de noviembre de 1967 (cinco a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de la llegada de los Caravelle y Avro y ocho de los Comet 4) trata de posicionar a la empresa en este mercado. Lo hace de modo algo contradictorio, porque elige como n\u00facleo del mensaje a los aviones, un campo en el que puede ensalzar sus modernos aviones de pasajeros, pero no los de carga y, aunque no lo diga, queda flotando la idea de que los cargueros son m\u00e1quinas viejas.  <\/p>\n<p>La carga a\u00e9rea es un negocio totalmente distinto del transporte de pasajeros, y la Argentina un pa\u00eds dif\u00edcil para su implementaci\u00f3n.
