Aerol\u00edneas\/Austral se qued\u00f3 sola en el concierto de las empresas con aspiraciones de la regi\u00f3n, y su pron\u00f3stico es dif\u00edcil.<\/p>\n<p>Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas, alguna vez, estuvo en la pelea por ser la mayor empresa de Am\u00e9rica Latina. Eran otros tiempos, en los que los pa\u00edses pujaban por mostrar su bandera en los aeropuertos del mundo sin fijarse demasiado en el costo de eso. Pero lentamente el mundo fue cambiando y aquellas aerol\u00edneas de bandera se fueron convirtiendo en otra cosa, sin que por ello los pasajeros hayan perdido la posibilidad de volar ni sus pa\u00edses se hayan degradado. No fue un plan perverso, fue la evoluci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Las aerol\u00edneas exitosas de hoy son sociedades de capitales internacionales que se preocupan por tener m\u00e1s beneficios transportando m\u00e1s pasajeros a m\u00e1s destinos, sin inquietarse por el problema de la nacionalidad. Los gobiernos, que hace rato tomaron la decisi\u00f3n de no sostener emprendimientos que puede llevar adelante la iniciativa privada, hoy centran su preocupaci\u00f3n en lograr una mejor competencia, con libertad de acceso para todos y sin prebendas.<\/p>\n<h2>La concentraci\u00f3n<\/h2>\n<p>En una fecha tan lejana como los a\u00f1os ochenta comenz\u00f3 a hablarse del paradigma de la concentraci\u00f3n, la asociaci\u00f3n de empresas de distintos pa\u00edses para crear un sistema de aerol\u00edneas que pusiera todo el mundo a disposici\u00f3n del pasajero en una sola oferta comercial. El resumen de esto fue la famosa profec\u00eda de Ian Carlzon, CEO de SAS que sostuvo que en el futuro s\u00f3lo habr\u00eda tres o cuatro grandes aerol\u00edneas globales. Empresas que fueron archirrivales se asociaron para entrar en esta l\u00f3gica, al tiempo que la ingenier\u00eda financiera les daba herramientas para poder hacerlo. Fue un proceso largo y dif\u00edcil, pero lo cierto es que el vaticinio de Carlzon, aunque con m\u00e1s jugadores, se est\u00e1 cumpliendo.<\/p>\n<p>La tendencia est\u00e1 clara: en los pr\u00f3ximos a\u00f1os las asociaciones de aerol\u00edneas dominar\u00e1n el mercado, que ser\u00e1 \u00fanico y global. Todas, m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido o m\u00e1s lentamente, convencidas o no, se est\u00e1n apurando por montarse en esta tendencia que ya es irreversible. La reciente compra de Air Europa por el grupo IAG es una muestra m\u00e1s, pero es una muestra que va a golpear, inevitablemente, el funcionamiento de los cielos argentinos.<\/p>\n<p>Si miramos alrededor, nos encontramos que pr\u00e1cticamente todos los operadores de cierta envergadura que tienen presencia en el pa\u00eds hoy forman parte de alg\u00fan grupo internacional, o est\u00e1n gestionando aceleradamente su inclusi\u00f3n. Aerol\u00edneas\/Austral no es el caso, y en esta soledad la acompa\u00f1an Boliviana de Aviaci\u00f3n y, quiz\u00e1s, Flybondi. El resto, de un modo u otro, tiene alguna posici\u00f3n internacional. Nadie lo sabe, pero seguramente se perder\u00e1 presencia en esa ruta.<\/p>\n<p>Hoy es imposible competir en soledad. Pertenecer a una alianza no alcanza, hay que tener asociaciones m\u00e1s estrechas, pero para tenerlas hay que estar en condiciones de ofrecer un m\u00ednimo de coherencia, algo que la empresa estatal argentina no tiene. Tres CEOs en cuatro a\u00f1os es un record dif\u00edcil de igualar.<\/p>\n<p>Mientras tanto, un mercado de 45.000.000 de habitantes, de razonable ingreso, distribuidos en una geograf\u00eda que exige aviones para moverse, est\u00e1 disponible para la conquista de otras empresas, con otra filosof\u00eda, otros costos y otras ofertas, que incluyen en el mundo, no s\u00f3lo el mundo f\u00edsico, sino tambi\u00e9n el mundo de las ideas de este siglo.<\/p>\n<p>Aerol\u00edneas\/Austral se muere. Tiene una de esas enfermedades mentales que le impiden alimentarse y evolucionar y se niega a aceptar el tratamiento.
