Identificado con el <strong>n\u00famero de serie 14<\/strong>, el aparato fue dado de alta en julio de 1968 y recibi\u00f3 la matr\u00edcula militar <strong>T-122<\/strong> de la Fuerza A\u00e9rea Argentina (FAA).<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Trayectoria hist\u00f3rica<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>El aparato se distingue por haber sido el primer IA-50 asignado a la m\u00e1s alta jerarqu\u00eda de la instituci\u00f3n, por haber protagonizado al menos dos vuelos hist\u00f3ricamente relevantes y por haber prestado servicio exclusivamente como transporte VIP de los altos mandos de la FAA. Cinco meses despu\u00e9s de su entrada en servicio (04 al 12\/12\/1968), el T-122 traslad\u00f3 al entonces Comandante en Jefe de la FAA, brigadier mayor <strong>Jorge Mart\u00ednez Zuvir\u00eda<\/strong>, hasta Panam\u00e1 para para participar de la ceremonia de egreso de 328 suboficiales aeron\u00e1uticos <em>\u201cgraduados en diversas especialidades y pertenecientes a 17 pa\u00edses de Am\u00e9rica Latina\u201d<\/em> junto con el Comandante Sur de los EE.UU., general mayor <strong>Kenneth O. Sanborn<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Pero su vuelo hist\u00f3ricamente m\u00e1s relevante tuvo lugar cinco a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde, cuando se transform\u00f3 en el primer avi\u00f3n de fabricaci\u00f3n nacional en llegar a las Islas Malvinas. Tras su retiro del servicio activo, fue donado al Aeroclub Argentino, quien lo mantuvo en condiciones razonables en sus instalaciones de San Justo (Provincia de Buenos Aires) desde abril de 1999 hasta el cese de sus operaciones en ese aer\u00f3dromo. Desde entonces, la m\u00e1quina se encuentra abandonada a su suerte en terrenos que hoy administrar\u00eda un club deportivo local.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>\u00bf#Original o #Mellizo?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Otra peculiaridad de esta matr\u00edcula es que algunas fuentes la asocian no al 14 sino al <strong>n\u00famero de serie 32<\/strong>, que inici\u00f3 su carrera operativa en la Provincia de Catamarca y termin\u00f3 su carrera en la FAA con la matr\u00edcula T-111 (segundo uso de la misma). Seg\u00fan esos autores, a inicios de la d\u00e9cada de 1990 se decidi\u00f3 hacer un enroque de fuselajes entre ese T-111 y el T-122 porque este \u00faltimo presentaba un grado de corrosi\u00f3n que no justificaba su recuperaci\u00f3n.
