height: 251px;\" \/> <\/a> <div class=\"tiled-gallery-caption\" itemprop=\"caption description\"> El PH-CKB dejando SCEL con rumbo de regreso a Europa (foto: Carlos Ay). <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <!-- close group --> <\/div> <!-- close row --> <\/div>\n<p>Uno de esos 747-200 SUD se conserva hasta nuestros d\u00edas en el Museo Aviodrome de Lelystad: Matriculado PH-BUK y bautizado \u201cLouis Bl\u00e9riot\u201d, tuvo que ser traslado por tierra y en barcazas por canales, desde \u00c1msterdam porque la pista del aeropuerto de destino no era apta para un avi\u00f3n de esa envergadura.<\/p>\n<p>La serie 200 fue retirado en 1991 tras operar 13 unidades: Los primeros siete nombrados en honor de r\u00edos importantes y \u00faltimos seis en honor a pioneros de la aviaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<h2>Las \u00faltimas generaciones<\/h2>\n<p>Otra versi\u00f3n incorporada fue el 747-300, recibida en 1983 y retirada en 2003 con apenas tres unidades en configuraci\u00f3n Combi que tambi\u00e9n fueron bautizadas con nombres de pioneros de la aviaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Uno de ellos, el PH-BUW <em>\u201cLeonardo Da Vinci\u201d<\/em>, fue transferido a Surinam Airways en 2004 y sigui\u00f3 volando hacia \u00c1msterdam hasta el a\u00f1o 2010, pero en versi\u00f3n full pax.<\/p>\n<p>Por \u00faltimo, la serie 400 fue m\u00e1s utilizada, operando tanto opciones Combi como full pax y fueron bautizados con nombres de las ciudades m\u00e1s populares en la red de rutas de KLM.<\/p>\n<p>El primer serie 400 de KLM fue el PH-BFA \u201cCity of Atlanta\u201d y se distingue por haber sido tambi\u00e9n el primer 747-400 en Europa.<\/p>\n<div class=\"tiled-gallery type-rectangular tiled-gallery-unresized\" data-original-width=\"1140\" data-carousel-extra='{&quot;blog_id&quot;:1,&quot;permalink&quot;:&quot;https:\\\/\\\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\\\/gaceta\\\/wp-101\\\/recordando-un-vuelo-en-la-ultima-reina-de-klm\\\/&quot;,&quot;likes_blog_id&quot;:26943182}' itemscope itemtype=\"http:\/\/schema.org\/ImageGallery\" > <div class=\"gallery-row\" style=\"width: 1140px; height: 537px;\" \/> <\/a> <div class=\"tiled-gallery-caption\" itemprop=\"caption description\"> El PH-BFL <i>Ciudad de Lima<\/i> en Johannesburgo en Agosto de 1997 (foto: Fernando Puppio). <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <!-- close group --> <\/div> <!-- close row --> <\/div>\n<p>Las versiones Combi llevaban 268\/283 pasajeros y la versi\u00f3n full 408 pasajeros.<\/p>\n<p>Uno de los \u00faltimos 747 de KLM, fue entregado en 2002 y, configurado en versi\u00f3n full pero con el esquema de KLM Asia, fue matriculado PH-BFY \u201cCiudad de Johannesburgo\u201d y con apenas 18 a\u00f1os de carrera operativa tranquilamente podr\u00eda ser convertido a carguero y seguir operando (siempre y cuando el mercado se recupere).<\/p>\n<p>Tras las decisi\u00f3n instrumentada el 29 de marzo de 2020, los 747 de KLM quedaron estacionados en \u00c1msterdam y poco a poco ir\u00e1n partiendo hacia nuevos due\u00f1os o destinos con su metal y materiales reutilizables.<\/p>\n<h2>Volando en la \u201c\u00faltima reina de KLM\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>La fecha es junio 2019 y me encuentro en JFK, no solamente porque quer\u00eda visitar el TWA Hotel sino porque tambi\u00e9n quer\u00eda volar en un 747 de KLM.<\/p>\n<p>Si bien, para este entonces, la fecha de retiro estaba programada para 2021, afortunadamente no postergu\u00e9 el viaje para el 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Hoy celebro la decisi\u00f3n porque me permiti\u00f3 subirme al que, seis meses m\u00e1s tarde, ser\u00eda el \u00faltimo 744 de KLM en dejar de operar regularmente.<\/p>\n<p>La ruta a New York es muy popular en carga y por eso KLM operaba tres vuelos ese d\u00eda, los anteriores con Airbus A330-200 y Boeing 777 y 787; pero el ser combi, estaba apenas delante de la puerta 4 y justo atr\u00e1s m\u00edo, la puerta que lleva a la bodega principal de carga.<\/p>\n<p>En este galley, no hay ba\u00f1os \u2013 con lo cual, era interesante el detalle de los autoadhesivos advirtiendo que los ba\u00f1os est\u00e1n hacia el frente del avi\u00f3n, no atr\u00e1s.<\/p>\n<p>Otro detalle llamativo era que la cabina databa de principios de la d\u00e9cada de 2000, con pantallas de video viejas y peque\u00f1as que carec\u00eda de sentido actualizar dado que esta Reina ten\u00eda su fecha de vencimiento avecin\u00e1ndose.<\/p>\n<p>Fue incre\u00edble escuchar el ruido del tren de aterrizaje guard\u00e1ndose en el despegue y tuve la suerte de visitar el \u201cupper deck\u201d (la cubierta superior, un \u00edcono de lo m\u00e1s simb\u00f3lico del 747) e inclusive aterrizar all\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p>Los 747 de KLM ten\u00edan una configuraci\u00f3n muy particular respecto al galley delantero, donde en vez de estar entre las puertas 1 y 2 o 3 en su defecto, se encuentra a lo largo, del lado derecho del avi\u00f3n, entre las puertas 1R y 2R \u2013 por eso es com\u00fan ver todas esas ventanillas tapadas.<\/p>\n<div class=\"tiled-gallery type-rectangular tiled-gallery-unresized\" data-original-width=\"1140\" data-carousel-extra='{&quot;blog_id&quot;:1,&quot;permalink&quot;:&quot;https:\\\/\\\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\\\/gaceta\\\/wp-101\\\/recordando-un-vuelo-en-la-ultima-reina-de-klm\\\/&quot;,&quot;likes_blog_id&quot;:26943182}' itemscope itemtype=\"http:\/\/schema.org\/ImageGallery\" > <div class=\"gallery-row\" style=\"width: 1140px; generar mayor rentabilidad.<\/p>\n<p>El dato m\u00e1s relevante de ese vuelo es que, sin poder saberlo entonces, me hab\u00eda embarcado en el PH-BFT \u201cCiudad de Tokio\u201d, el mismo que oper\u00f3 el \u00faltimo vuelo comercial de pasajeros de la flota 747 en KLM.<\/p>\n<p>A diferencia del caso australiano (ver <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\/gaceta\/wp-101\/?p=35618\">\u201cQantas retira anticipadamente sus \u00faltimos Boeing 747: La reina abdica ante el coronavirus\u201d<\/a>), esta \u201cabdicaci\u00f3n\u201d no es completa: En KLM, por el momento, quedan tres 747-400ERF con los colores de KLM Cargo (operados por Martinair) y un 747-400BCF con los colores de Martinair Cargo,
