Ambos participaron de una misi\u00f3n de ataque a objetivos terrestres en la que recibieron varios impactos de la artiller\u00eda antia\u00e9rea brit\u00e1nica (foto: Fuerza A\u00e9rea Argentina v\u00eda Jorge N\u00fa\u00f1ez Pad\u00edn).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<hr \/>\n<p>De no ser por su paso por la Fuerza A\u00e9rea Argentina y su participaci\u00f3n en la Guerra A\u00e9rea de Malvinas, este Skyhawk hubiese sido \u00abuno m\u00e1s del mont\u00f3n\u00bb&#8230; montado en la planta que <strong>Douglas Aircraft Company<\/strong> (DAC) pose\u00eda en El Segundo (California), realiz\u00f3 su primer vuelo en febrero de 1958 ocupando el 83er. lugar de los 542 <strong>A4D-2 Skyhawk<\/strong> construidos all\u00ed a partir de 1956.<\/p>\n<p>Identificado con el <strong>n\u00famero de serie 11750<\/strong>, ingres\u00f3 al servicio de la <strong>United States Navy<\/strong> (USN, Armada de los Estados Unidos) con la <strong>matr\u00edcula aeronaval 142688<\/strong>, oper\u00f3 con unidades de ataque de primera l\u00ednea y de entrenamiento de pilotos de reserva y, tras poco m\u00e1s de seis a\u00f1os en actividad, fue desactivado y almacenado en el \u00abcementerio aeronaval\u00bb de Litchfield Park, al Suroeste de Phoenix (Arizona).<\/p>\n<h3><strong>\u00bfEn L\u00edbano y Rep\u00fablica Dominicana?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Mientras estuvo asignado al escuadr\u00f3n VA-12, su operador norteamericano m\u00e1s prolongado, es probable que haya participado en alguno de los tours que la unidad realiz\u00f3 al <strong>Mar Mediterr\u00e1neo<\/strong> entre septiembre de 1958 y marzo de 1959 a bordo del portaaviones USS Forrestal (CVA-59) o entre enero y agosto de 1961 en el USS Franklin D. complet\u00f3 su evoluci\u00f3n a la configuraci\u00f3n A-4P \u00abHalc\u00f3n\u00bb mediante la incorporaci\u00f3n de ca\u00f1ones DEFA 553A-4 calibre 30 mm (en reemplazo de los Colt Mk.12 calibre 20 mm), sistema de navegaci\u00f3n GPS Global GLS-350 (en reemplazo del VLF\/OMEGA Litton LTN-211) y otras mejoras y arreglos que le permitieron mantenerse vigente y operativo hasta su \u00faltimo vuelo a fines de 1998.<\/p>\n<p>Tras una emotiva ceremonia de despedida realizada en Villa Reynolds el 15 de marzo de 1999, la aeronave fue trasladada en vuelo hasta Mor\u00f3n a principios de abril del mismo a\u00f1o para integrarse a la colecci\u00f3n del <strong>Museo Nacional de Aeron\u00e1utica<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Si bien s\u00f3lo podemos intuir c\u00f3mo estaba pintado mientras operaba con la USN, sabemos que emple\u00f3 dos variantes de esquema de pintura a lo largo de su carrera con la FAA.<\/p>\n<p>Entre su llegada al pa\u00eds y fines de la d\u00e9cada de 1960, luci\u00f3 el esquema original en <strong>metal natural<\/strong> con marcas de identificaci\u00f3n de grandes dimensiones.<\/p>\n<p>A inicios de la d\u00e9cada de 1970 migr\u00f3 al <strong>esquema mimetizado<\/strong> en destacar.<\/p>\n<p>A fines de la d\u00e9cada de 1960, por ejemplo, en el tim\u00f3n empleaba el <strong>n\u00famero de mantenimiento 243-07<\/strong>, un mecanismo de inventario que tuvo vida ef\u00edmera en la FAA.<\/p>\n<p>Despu\u00e9s de la Guerra de Malvinas recibi\u00f3 marcas para dar cuenta de su participaci\u00f3n en misiones de ataque a objetivos navales (\u00abAON\u00bb) en 1982: Si bien inicialmente fueron dos, con el tiempo se consolidaron en tres por las tres (de cuatro misiones AON lanzadas) en las que logr\u00f3 llegar a la zona de combate.<\/p>\n<p>Al momento de su retiro del servicio activo, por su parte, recibi\u00f3 en el tim\u00f3n de direcci\u00f3n un mapa de la Provincia de San Luis indicando la ubicaci\u00f3n de su base de asiento en tiempos de paz.<\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n tuvo una vida p\u00fablica \u00abbastante\u00bb activa: En 1968 se present\u00f3 est\u00e1ticamente en el predio de la Sociedad Rural Argentina de Palermo (Ciudad de Buenos Aires) durante la <strong>I Exposici\u00f3n Aeron\u00e1utica y Espacial<\/strong> organizada por la FAA durante la XXII Semana Aeron\u00e1utica y Espacial y en 1984 fue parte de una muestra con la que la IV Brigada A\u00e9rea de El Plumerillo (Mendoza) celebr\u00f3 la <strong>XXXV Semana Aeron\u00e1utica y Espacial<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_36502\"
