(Foto: Noticias en Vuelo) <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <!-- close group --> <\/div> <!-- close row --> <\/div>\n<p>Argentina ha sido uno de los pioneros en el campo de la inteligencia electr\u00f3nica en Latinoam\u00e9rica, inicialmente la Fuerza A\u00e9rea Argentina (FAA) contemplaba modificar un Fokker F-28 Mk.1000C con sistemas provistos por Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI). Fue reci\u00e9n luego del conflicto de Malvinas donde realmente se tom\u00f3 conciencia de la necesidad de contar con medios especializados para ejecutar estas misiones. Cabe destacar que durante la contienda las tareas de reconocimiento y exploraci\u00f3n lejana recayeron sobre los Boeing 707 y C-130H Hercules, al carecer de equipamiento adecuado para estas misiones se debi\u00f3 echar mano al ingenio para desarrollar las t\u00e9cnicas adecuadas con el poco material disponible, es as\u00ed que se desarrollaron patrones de b\u00fasqueda con ascensos y descensos empleando intermitentemente el radar meteorol\u00f3gico y el transponder, este \u00faltimo, como una suerte de Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) precario. En el caso de los Hercules estos vuelos fueron apodados \u201clocos.\u201d Si bien se podr\u00eda decir que las mismas tuvieron un \u00e9xito relativo esto siempre fue a costa de exponer a las tripulaciones indefensas ante un eventual contacto con el enemigo, y es as\u00ed que se tuvo que pagar el precio m\u00e1s alto cuando el 1\u00b0 de junio, el C-130E TC-63, indicativo \u201cTiza\u201d que se encontraba en una misi\u00f3n de exploraci\u00f3n aproximadamente a 55 kil\u00f3metros al norte de las islas Malvinas (O.F. 2258) fue interceptado por una PAC de Sea Harrier compuesta por el Lt Cdr Nigel Ward y el Lt Steve Thomas, durante la misma el primero, a bordo del XZ451, lo derriba empleando misiles AIM-9L Sidewinder y el fuego de sus ca\u00f1ones, all\u00ed fallece la totalidad de la tripulaci\u00f3n compuesta por los Capitanes Rub\u00e9n Martel y Carlos Krause, el Vicecomodoro Hugo Meisner, los CP Miguel Cardone y Carlos Cantezano, el SP Julio Lastra y el SA Manuel Albelos.<\/p>\n<p>Tras la guerra la FAA comienza a trabajar en el FAS (Fuerza A\u00e9rea Sistemas) 240 \u201cSistema SIGINT.\u201d La aeronave seleccionada como plataforma fue el Boeing 707-387C TC-93 (C\/n 19962\/755) sometido a una conversi\u00f3n en Israel con el sistema ELTA EL\/L-8300, tras su arribo al pa\u00eds fue rematriculado como VR-21, con esta aeronave el Grupo de Guerra Electr\u00f3nica dio sus primeros pasos en el campo de las misiones SIGINT (SIGnal INTelligence). (Foto: Thales) <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <!-- close group --> <\/div> <!-- close row --> <\/div>\n<p>Paralelamente la FAA trabaj\u00f3 en el FAS-1100 \u201cLear Jet SIGINT\u201d que implic\u00f3 la adquisici\u00f3n en el mercado de segunda mano canadiense del Gates Learjet 35A (C\/n 34A-395) que se matricul\u00f3 VR-24 y que arrib\u00f3 al pa\u00eds, en su configuraci\u00f3n original, el 14 de julio de 2013. Hasta el momento ha realizado mayoritariamente vuelos de traslado de autoridades. Ell mismo fue modificado con el sistema Thales Vigile 200, lo que signific\u00f3\u00a0 ser sometido a una serie de modificaciones estructurales que contemplan, en la secci\u00f3n frontal de los tanques externos de punta de ala una Tip Tank Extensi\u00f3n para disponer de \u00e1reas secas y ductos para cables afectados a las antenas y receptores de extremo de ala. Dichos radomos deben cumplir los requisitos de trasmisibilidad del sistema ELINT (ELectronic INTelligence).<\/p>\n<p>Se modificaron diferentes mamparos de cola para instalar un soporte con radome de cola (Tail Stinger and Tailcone Radome) para la colocaci\u00f3n de antenas y receptores del \u00e1rea trasera de la aeronave. Cumpliendo este tambi\u00e9n con los requisitos de trasmisibilidad ya citados.<\/p>\n<p>Otras modificaciones son los ductos para alojar cableado entre los tanques externos de la aeronave y el sector de bodega, lugar donde se aloja la unidad de procesamiento del Vigile 200.<\/p>\n<p>El soporte de equipos en el extremo de cola de la aeronave (Tail Stinger) y sector de bodega donde se instala la unidad de procesamiento del Vigile 200.<\/p>\n<p>Modificaciones estructurales\/instalaciones para adaptar los Delta Fins (Avcom R\/X Mod) que incrementan la estabilidad, eficiencia en vuelo y autonom\u00eda de la aeronave.<\/p>\n<p>El piso del sector de bodega de equipajes, posterior al sill\u00f3n trasero, para permitir, con un refuerzo adecuado, la instalaci\u00f3n de un rack conteniendo, entre otros equipos, el procesador del sistema Vigile 200.<\/p>\n<p>La reubicaci\u00f3n de las antenas que interfieran los trabajos de localizaci\u00f3n de los componentes de las modificaciones citadas.<\/p>\n<p>En lo respectivo a alerta temprana la FAA ha evaluado algunas opciones que no han podido concretarse, las m\u00e1s resonantes fueron, en 2010 se conoci\u00f3 que el Ministerio de Defensa estaba efectuando negociaciones para la adquisici\u00f3n de al menos dos S-100B Argus (Saab 340 AEW&amp;C) dados de baja por la Fuerza A\u00e9rea Sueca. (Foto: Instituto Aeronaval) <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <!-- close group --> <\/div> <!-- close row --> <\/div>\n<p>La Armada Argentina (ARA) posee una vasta experiencia en este campo que se remonta, al menos, a la incorporaci\u00f3n de los Lockheed SP-2E Neptune en 1971, 0644\/2-P-103 (MSN 426-5416), 0682\/2-P-104 (MSN 426-5413) y 0683\/2-P-105 (MSN 426-5404), \u00a0y luego los SP-2H en 1977, 0706\/2-P-110 (MSN 726-7234), 0707\/2-P-111 (MSN 726-7257), 0708\/2-P-112 (MSN 726-7283) y 0718\/2-P-114 (MSN 726-7233), durante su carrera operativa los mismos fueron los responsables de ejecutar misiones de exploraci\u00f3n, antisubmarinas, control de tr\u00e1fico mar\u00edtimo (CTM) y b\u00fasqueda y rescate en el mar. Estos estaban dotados con sensores ESM (Electronic Support Measures). Este sistema pasivo era capaz de interceptar y analizar transmisiones de radar o radio determinando su rumbo relativo a la aeronave, sus componentes eran un alerta radar AN\/ALR-3 cuyos receptores se encontraban situados en unos peque\u00f1os carenados en la parte delantera y trasera del fuselaje, un analizador de ondas electromagn\u00e9ticas AN\/ALR-8 y un direction finder (localizador de direcci\u00f3n) AN\/APA-69, cuya antena estaba ubicada bajo un radomo en la parte trasera inferior del fuselaje. La misi\u00f3n m\u00e1s emblem\u00e1tica de estas aeronaves tuvo lugar durante el conflicto de Malvinas, cuando el 4 de mayo, mientras ejecutaba una misi\u00f3n de exploraci\u00f3n, el 0708\/2-P-112 al mando del Capit\u00e1n de Corbeta Ernesto Proni Leston y el Capit\u00e1n de Corbeta Sergio Sepetich, haciendo uso del radar de exploraci\u00f3n y el AN\/ALR-8 detectaron las emisiones de un radar Type 965 del HMS Sheffield, con las cuales proporcionaron su ubicaci\u00f3n dando lugar a un ataque ejecutado con dos Super Etendard que haciendo uso de misiles Exocet procedieron a hundirlo. Brea) <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <!-- close group --> <\/div> <!-- close row --> <\/div>\n<p>En 1977 se incorporan seis Grumman S-2E Tracker, 0700\/2-AS-21 (MSN 233C), 0701\/2-AS-22 (MSN 298C), 0702\/2-AS-23 (MSN 321C), 0703\/2-AS-24 (MSN 325C), 0704\/2-AS-25 (MSN 333C) y 0705\/2-AS-26 (MSN 337C), para misiones antisubmarinas y antisuperficie con la capacidad de ser embarcados, los mismos estaban dotados con un equipo ECM (Electronic Counter Measures), de detecci\u00f3n y vigilancia con Direction Finder Avco AN\/ALD-2B, ubicado en las punteras de ala.<\/p>\n<p>Tanto los Trackers como los Neptune tuvieron una activa participaci\u00f3n en la b\u00fasqueda de la Escuadra Naval chilena durante la crisis lim\u00edtrofe de 1978.<\/p>\n<p>Para 1982 este sistema no se encontraba en capacidad de detectar los radares Type 965 de los buques brit\u00e1nicos, por lo que se procedi\u00f3 a instalar a modo experimental en el 0702\/2-AS-23 un AN\/ALR-3 proveniente de los Neptune, el mismo result\u00f3 ser inadecuado ya que por su volumen deb\u00eda colocarse en el pasillo interno dificultando el movimiento de los operadores en caso de tener que abandonar la aeronave, adem\u00e1s el mismo era afectado por la interferencia de se\u00f1ales de los otros equipos del Tracker determinando su remoci\u00f3n. Esta carencia hizo que se apelara al ingenio recurriendo al empleo de un analizador espectral de frecuencias de laboratorio Tektronix 7L3 como sistema ESM complementario, ya que med\u00eda el espectro comprendido entre los 200 a 400 MHz. Siendo posible detectar las emisiones de los radares de b\u00fasqueda de los buques brit\u00e1nicos. Hasta ese entonces estos equipos eran empleados para la calibraci\u00f3n de radares, equipos de comunicaci\u00f3n y electr\u00f3nica y dispon\u00edan de la capacidad de procesar frecuencias e intensidad de las se\u00f1ales para catalogar al emisor. Esta adaptaci\u00f3n fue realizada por el Taller de Electr\u00f3nica del Arsenal Aeronaval N\u00ba 2 y consisti\u00f3 en el montaje de una antena UHF, y un cable coaxial hasta el analizador, el mismo se ubic\u00f3 en el lugar del equipo de las sonoboyas AQA-4A, por lo que el empleo de uno inhabilitaba el del otro. Inmediatamente se iniciaron los vuelos de prueba con los destructores Tipo 42 de la ARA que tuvieron como resultado el desarrollo de nuevas t\u00e9cnicas de operaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Una de las misiones m\u00e1s destacadas fue cuando operando embarcados se produjo la detecci\u00f3n de emisiones de la Task Force dando paso a la planificaci\u00f3n de un ataque con A-4Q Skyhawk para el 1\u00b0 de mayo que finalmente no pudo concretarse debido a las condiciones desfavorables para el catapultaje.<\/p>\n<p>Tras el conflicto se encar\u00f3 el Proyecto TATA (Turbinizaci\u00f3n A Tracker Argentino) que contempl\u00f3 la remotorizaci\u00f3n con Garret TPE-331-15AW y modernizaci\u00f3n de avi\u00f3nica y equipos denominada S-2T Turbo Tracker, para ello se convirtieron cuatro ejemplares (2-AS-21, 2-AS-22, 2-AS-23 y 2-AS-24, mientras que el 2-AS-25 no pudo finalizar su conversi\u00f3n). (Foto: Guillermo Acerbi) <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <!-- close group --> <\/div> <!-- close row --> <\/div>\n<p>Al menos en el 0692\/6-P-106 se mont\u00f3 un equipo ESM Kollmorgen Sea Sentry III (seguramente heredado de alguno de los submarinos TR1700) cuya antena de m\u00e1stil se encontraba situada en la parte inferior trasera del fuselaje y era operado a trav\u00e9s de una estaci\u00f3n ESM dispuesta en el lateral izquierdo por detr\u00e1s de la cabina de pilotaje. El radar de b\u00fasqueda y este sensor ESM estaban integrados en una COTAC (Computadora T\u00e1ctica) para un empleo m\u00e1s eficiente.<\/p>\n<p>El \u00faltimo vuelo con un Electra de exploraci\u00f3n el tuvo lugar el 27 de octubre de 1997.<\/p>\n<p>En noviembre de 1983 se instal\u00f3 en el 0792\/6-P-104 (MSN 1072) un equipo ESM capaz de operar entre las frecuencias de 8\/9000 MHz. Con posterioridad esta misma aeronave se modific\u00f3 para misiones SIGINT. (Foto: Marcelo Mustone) <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <!-- close group --> <\/div> <!-- close row --> <\/div>\n<p>Para tal cometido la aeronave recibi\u00f3 importantes modificaciones, internamente fueron montados voluminosos racks con una estaci\u00f3n COMINT de b\u00fasqueda autom\u00e1tica de comunicaciones capaz de determinar frecuencias, ubicar a sus emisores y almacenar estos datos para su an\u00e1lisis en tierra. Una estaci\u00f3n ELINT era la responsable de la detecci\u00f3n de las emisiones electromagn\u00e9ticas y ubicarlas por triangulaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Externamente el \u201cWave\u201d se caracterizaba por sus modificaciones estructurales, ya que sobre la cabina y a ambos laterales traseros del fuselaje se montaron radomos que alojaban antenas planas, mientras que en su parte inferior fue dispuesta una bater\u00eda de antenas. Seg\u00fan algunos trascendidos estos dispositivos le confer\u00edan mayores capacidades que el VR-21. (Foto: Instituto Aeronaval) <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <!-- close group --> <\/div> <!-- close row --> <\/div>\n<p>A fines de 1997 la ARA comienza a incorporar los Lockheed P-3B Orion en el seno de la Escuadrilla Aeronaval de Exploraci\u00f3n (EA6E) basada en la Base Aeronaval Almirante Zar, estos seis ejemplares, 0867\/6-P-51 (C\/n 185-5158), 0868\/6-P-52 (C\/n 185-5172), 0869\/6-P-53 (C\/n 185-5186), 0870\/6-P-54 (C\/n 185-5205), 0871\/6-P-55 (C\/n 185-5207) y 0872\/6-P-56 (C\/n 185-5216) los mismos cuentan con un equipo ESM que dispone de un indicador de emisiones de radar y un analizador de pulsos, la recepci\u00f3n se realiza a trav\u00e9s de dos antenas que se encuentran ubicadas en las punteras de ala.
