La compa\u00f1\u00eda dio de baja al modelo de Boeing en favor del Airbus A319, tal como anticipamos en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\/gaceta\/wp-101\/?p=30489\">Volotea, una aerol\u00ednea singular<\/a>. La gira de despedida del domingo puso fin a la relaci\u00f3n de Europa con el 717.<\/p>\n<p>Los vuelos finales del 717 al servicio del Volotea del domingo pasado incluyeron escalas en Cagliari, Catania, G\u00e9nova, N\u00e1poles, Palermo, Tur\u00edn y Verona.<\/p>\n<p>A partir de all\u00ed, los aviones se reunieron en la base veneciana. En los pr\u00f3ximos d\u00edas ser\u00e1n transferidos al deposito de aviones en Victorville, California, poniendo as\u00ed fin a la relaci\u00f3n de la aerol\u00ednea, y de Europa, con el 717.<\/p>\n<p>La lowcost espa\u00f1ola, que opera mayoritariamente en el sur de Europa, cuenta actualmente con 20 Airbus A319 en su flota. Entr\u00f3 en servicio en 1999 como MD-95 para competir en el mercado de las 100 plazas. Tras la compra de McDonnell Douglas por parte de Boeing en 1996, el modelo se continu\u00f3 produciendo por 10 a\u00f1os m\u00e1s y finalmente la l\u00ednea de fabricaci\u00f3n en Long Beach cerr\u00f3 en 2006.<\/p>\n<p>Por su parte Volotea inici\u00f3 operaciones en el aeropuerto Marco Polo de Venecia con dos Boeing 717 en 2012. Ahora, en el momento del retiro oficial del tipo de la empresa, nueve de los aviones permanec\u00edan en su flota, aunque en operaciones permanec\u00edan solo dos. As\u00ed pues, Volotea ha sido la \u00faltima aerol\u00ednea europea en volar el Boeing 717 en el Viejo Continente.<\/p>\n<h2>Escasa aceptaci\u00f3n en Europa<\/h2>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de Volotea, y Air Malta, en Europa hubo algunos otros operadores, pero fueron escasos los que apostaron por el modelo.<\/p>\n<p>La finlandesa Blue1, una subsidiaria del Grupo SAS, oper\u00f3 nueve 717 entre 2010 y 2015. Muchos de los antiguos Boeing 717 europeos terminaron con Qantas bajo la marca regional de la aerol\u00ednea QantasLink.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00daltimos operadores<\/h2>\n<p>La salida del Boeing 717 de Volotea, deja al modelo con solo tres operadores en el mundo. QantasLink, que tiene un total de 20. Delta Air Lines es el operador de 717 m\u00e1s grande, con hasta 85 en su flota, cerca de la mitad de los cuales est\u00e1n almacenados.
