Comenz\u00f3 a operar el 25 de octubre del mismo a\u00f1o. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) proporcion\u00f3 dos aviones en wet lease: un Boeing 737 y un Airbus A300. Los dos primeros vuelos fueron de Dubai a Karachi, Pakist\u00e1n y Mumbai, India.<\/p>\n<p>Desde ese momento, Emirates ha crecido hasta convertirse en la aerol\u00ednea m\u00e1s grande de Oriente Medio. Tiene una flota principal compuesta completamente por aviones de fuselaje ancho. Tambi\u00e9n es el mayor cliente mundial del Airbus A380.<\/p>\n<p><b>Los primeros a\u00f1os con Airbus<\/b><\/p>\n<p>De los dos tipos de aeronaves que oper\u00f3 la compa\u00f1\u00eda en sus vuelos inaugurales de octubre de 1985, solo uno llegar\u00eda a la flota de la aerol\u00ednea. El 3 de julio de 1987, el Airbus A310-304 A6-EKA vol\u00f3 de Toulouse a Dub\u00e1i, y se convirti\u00f3 en el primer avi\u00f3n en propiedad de Emirates. Fue el primero de un pedido de ocho Airbus A310-304 de pasajeros, el resto lleg\u00f3 durante los siguientes seis a\u00f1os. Emirates tambi\u00e9n complement\u00f3 m\u00e1s tarde su flota A310 con dos aviones alquilados y tres de la variedad de carga.<\/p>\n<p>Tambien la aerol\u00ednea recibi\u00f3 seis nuevos Airbus A300 entre 1989 y 1995. La orden estaba compuesta por tres 777-200 y cuatro 777-200ER, con opciones para siete adicionales. La aerol\u00ednea se inscribi\u00f3 en el libro de pedidos con cinco unidades del Super Jumbo con opciones por cinco m\u00e1s, lo que dio inicio a una de las relaciones m\u00e1s emblem\u00e1ticas de la aviaci\u00f3n moderna. Incluso lleg\u00f3 a tener un pedido de dos aviones de la versi\u00f3n de carga prevista, y nunca fabricada.<\/p>\n<p>Emirates ampli\u00f3 su pedido inicial de A380 con 15 unidades adicionales, m\u00e1s cinco opciones, un a\u00f1o despu\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Y fue Airbus el ganador cuando Emirates hizo una gran apuesta en el Sal\u00f3n de Le Bourget en 2003. Algunos pedidos espor\u00e1dicos de dos, cuatro y tres llegaron a fines de la d\u00e9cada de 2000. Luego, en 2010, la aerol\u00ednea decidi\u00f3 que era hora de redoblar la apuesta y realiz\u00f3 un pedido por 32. El acuerdo en ese momento equival\u00eda US$ 11.500 millones a precio de lista.<\/p>\n<p>Pero eso no fue todo\u2026 En 2013 durante el Dubai Air Show, Emirates anunci\u00f3 que quer\u00eda otros 50 Super Jumbos europeos. Toca esperar y ver qu\u00e9 pasa con la orden.<\/p>\n<p><b>Llega el 777<\/b><\/p>\n<p>En noviembre de 2005, en el Dubai Air Show, Emirates firm\u00f3 el pedido m\u00e1s grande de aviones Boeing 777. En un acuerdo por valor de US$ 9,7 mil millones, la aerol\u00ednea lleg\u00f3 a un acuerdo con el fabricante por 24 Boeing 777-300ER, diez 777-200LR y ocho de su versi\u00f3n de carguero 777F. El primero de los aviones estaba programado para su entrega dos a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>En la edici\u00f3n de 2007 del mismo evento, Emirates pidi\u00f3 otros 12 Boeing 777-300ER. Eso no fue nada comparado con el siguiente pedido que se realiz\u00f3 en Farnborough en 2011. Emirates encarg\u00f3 otros 30 Triple Siete, valorados en m\u00e1s de US$ 9 mil millones. El acuerdo en esta ocasi\u00f3n fue por US$ 18 mil millones y por su importe fue la orden comercial m\u00e1s grande en la historia de Boeing. Orden\u00f3 25 en noviembre de 2013, seguido de un pedido gigante de 115 aviones un a\u00f1o despu\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, la aerol\u00ednea ha se\u00f1alado desde entonces que podr\u00eda cambiar parte de su pedido de 150 777X por m\u00e1s del 787, ya que firm\u00f3 su primer pedido de 30 Dreamliners en Dubai en noviembre de 2019. Al igual que con los A350, las entregas est\u00e1n destinadas para comenzar en 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Hasta la fecha, Emirates ha encargado 234 aviones Airbus. Se han entregado 166 de ellos. Los n\u00fameros respectivos de Boeing indican 319 pedidos y 133 entregados.
