Se precisaba un avi\u00f3n de fabricaci\u00f3n nacional que fuera capaz de sustituir al C-207 Azor, al C-352 (Ju-52 fabricados en Espa\u00f1a) y al Douglas C-47 Dakota. El requerimiento era de un aparato peque\u00f1o y bimotor que pudiera aterrizar en pistas cortas y poco preparadas. Hac\u00eda falta un utilitario de f\u00e1cil y econ\u00f3mico manejo y sostenibilidad y que le fuera posible volar con meteorolog\u00eda adversa. Cien ejemplares se construyeron en Indonesia bajo licencia por Indonesian Aerospace<\/p>\n<p>Es un avi\u00f3n vers\u00e1til no muy r\u00e1pido pero francamente robusto que junto a su formidable capacidad STOL (despegue y aterrizaje corto) le hace\u00a0 capaz de adaptarse a las m\u00e1s diversas misiones como\u00a0 transporte de carga y pasajeros, b\u00fasqueda y rescate, transporte VIP, inteligencia electr\u00f3nica, vigilancia mar\u00edtima, reconocimiento , vigilancia aduanera, formaci\u00f3n de paracaidistas, operaciones de transporte sanitario ,etc..<\/p>\n<p>Puede alojar 20 soldados, veh\u00edculos ligeros o una docena de camillas y dos asientos para personal m\u00e9dico \u00a0o casi 3000kg de carga en su bodega, con una autonom\u00eda de 1400 kil\u00f3metros. Es un avi\u00f3n ideal para r\u00e1pidos ascensos, vuelos nocturnos, lanzamientos de personal y cargas y para la instrucci\u00f3n de pilotos en vuelo instrumental.<\/p>\n<p>El Aviocar tiene la\u00a0 cola vertical y elevada que le permite una buena apertura de la rampa trasera que favorece el acceso y salida de personal, veh\u00edculos y carga.<\/p>\n<p>En el lado izquierdo tiene una puerta lateral, situada tras el ala, que favorece tanto el ascenso y descenso de personal as\u00ed como el lanzamiento de paracaidistas.<\/p>\n<p>Los motores son dos\u00a0 Garrett TPE331-12-JR de 925 CV y est\u00e1n situados bajo los bordes de las alas, es un avi\u00f3n muy maniobrable y robusto y usa sistemas simples y muy fiables. La bodega de carga mide 6,55m de largo, 1,80m de alto y tiene una anchura de 2,10m.<\/p>\n<p>La premisa del dise\u00f1o del C-212 era su sencillez y econom\u00eda de mantenimiento y equipos, poco a poco el avi\u00f3n iba haci\u00e9ndose cargo del desempe\u00f1o de m\u00e1s misiones y se le empezaron a a\u00f1adir algunos equipos. En la explosi\u00f3n fue da\u00f1ado el cono de cola, el motor de estribor y quedaron pr\u00e1cticamente bloqueados los timones de direcci\u00f3n y profundidad. Los pilotos determinaron intentar alcanzar el aeropuerto de Rijeka, y lo consiguieron tras volar cerca de cuarenta millas con un solo motor y realizando una largu\u00edsima aproximaci\u00f3n intentando evitar al m\u00e1ximo el uso de los mandos de vuelo.
