{"id":41305,"date":"2021-06-02T16:00:48","date_gmt":"2021-06-02T14:00:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\/gaceta\/wp-101\/?p=41305"},"modified":"2021-05-17T04:23:18","modified_gmt":"2021-05-17T02:23:18","slug":"malvinas-1982-la-ultima-mision-del-sombra-gimenez-3-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\/gaceta\/wp-101\/malvinas-1982-la-ultima-mision-del-sombra-gimenez-3-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Malvinas 1982: <b>La \u00faltima misi\u00f3n del \u201cSombra\u201d Gim\u00e9nez<\/b> (3\/3)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>El teniente John Harrison, piloto de helic\u00f3pteros Sea King del Escuadr\u00f3n 78 de la Real Fuerza A\u00e9rea Brit\u00e1nica, report\u00f3 el 26\/08\/1986 el avistamiento de restos de una aeronave estrellada contra el Cerro Azul (Blue Mountain), una cumbre de unos 400 a 500 m de altitud sobre el nivel del mar que forma parte de las Alturas Rivadavia (Wickham Heights).<\/p>\n<p>Tres d\u00edas m\u00e1s tarde, un Gazelle del Ej\u00e9rcito Brit\u00e1nico piloteado por el capit\u00e1n Chafer traslad\u00f3 al lugar al capit\u00e1n Paul Jefferson y al cabo Murgatroyd, integrantes del destacamento de ingenieros militares que en esa \u00e9poca desminaban las islas, quienes iniciaron la identificaci\u00f3n de la aeronave y prepararon la eliminaci\u00f3n de munici\u00f3n sin estallar presente en el lugar.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Primera inspecci\u00f3n de restos<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>El sitio se encontraba en una cresta que corre de norte a sur frente a la cumbre del Cerro Azul y el avi\u00f3n se hab\u00eda estrellado contra el lado oeste de esa cresta.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cParec\u00eda que la aeronave hab\u00eda hecho contacto primero con el pedregal a unos 100 m por debajo del punto donde la mayor parte del mismo hab\u00eda impactado en un afloramiento rocoso[,] mientras que los restos principales estaban apoyados contra ese afloramiento rocoso con otras piezas del avi\u00f3n esparcidas por la pendiente, cubriendo un \u00e1rea de aproximadamente 400 m por 400 m.\u201d<\/em>, seg\u00fan se aprecia en un minucioso detalle que Jefferson public\u00f3 en 12\/1987.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<div class=\"tiled-gallery type-rectangular tiled-gallery-unresized\" data-original-width=\"1140\" data-carousel-extra='{&quot;blog_id&quot;:1,&quot;permalink&quot;:&quot;https:\\\/\\\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\\\/gaceta\\\/wp-101\\\/malvinas-1982-la-ultima-mision-del-sombra-gimenez-3-3\\\/&quot;,&quot;likes_blog_id&quot;:26943182}' itemscope itemtype=\"http:\/\/schema.org\/ImageGallery\" > <div class=\"gallery-row\" style=\"width: 1140px; height: 279px;\" \/> <\/a> <\/div> <\/div> <!-- close group --> <\/div> <!-- close row --> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Su inventario tambi\u00e9n daba cuenta de la presencia de partes de la aeronave tales como <em>\u201cpalas de las h\u00e9lices, restos de las coheteras, cohetes, estaciones de armamento [2 ca\u00f1ones, cuatro ametralladoras y hasta la pistola calibre 9 mm del piloto] y tren de aterrizaje, todos de la parte inferior de la aeronave, los que parec\u00edan haber sido arrancados del [fuselaje] unos 100 m cuesta abajo, mientras que los dos motores y algunas otras piezas pesadas hab\u00edan sido arrojadas sobre la cresta y estaban a unos 200 metros por el lado este\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Los trabajos realizados en las dos semanas subsiguientes se concentraron en agrupar y detonar la munici\u00f3n sin explotar que se encontr\u00f3 en el lugar del accidente, circunstancia en la que se contabilizaron 42 cohetes de 2,75 pulgadas (muchos de ellos en muy buenas condiciones) e incontables cargas de ca\u00f1\u00f3n 20 mm y ametralladora 7,62 mm esparcidas por todas partes.<\/p>\n<p>Pero lo m\u00e1s inusual y riesgoso era la presencia de los dos asientos eyectables de la aeronave, que ten\u00edan sus cartuchos propulsores intactos y, seg\u00fan afirmaba Jefferson<em>, \u201crepresentaban un peligro muy real para cualquiera que visitara el sitio, especialmente porque se armaban inercialmente al someter sus espoletas retrasadas a 28 G\u201d<\/em> , las que muy probablemente se activaron tras estrellarse el A-537 a 200 nudos (370 km\/m) de velocidad.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>El verdadero desenlace<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>La noticia tom\u00f3 estado p\u00fablico el 03\/09 y, tras una semana de intercambios de informaci\u00f3n y verificaci\u00f3n de datos entre ambas naciones, la conclusi\u00f3n se hizo incontrovertible: La aeronave era el <strong>Pucar\u00e1 A-537<\/strong> y el piloto era el <strong>primer teniente (post mortem) Miguel \u00c1ngel Gim\u00e9nez<\/strong>, tal como atestiguaban las marcas de la aeronave, la vestimenta del piloto y la documentaci\u00f3n que se encontr\u00f3 en los bolsillos de su buzo de vuelo.<\/p>\n<div class=\"tiled-gallery type-rectangular tiled-gallery-unresized\" data-original-width=\"1140\" data-carousel-extra='{&quot;blog_id&quot;:1,&quot;permalink&quot;:&quot;https:\\\/\\\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\\\/gaceta\\\/wp-101\\\/malvinas-1982-la-ultima-mision-del-sombra-gimenez-3-3\\\/&quot;,&quot;likes_blog_id&quot;:26943182}' itemscope itemtype=\"http:\/\/schema.org\/ImageGallery\" > <div class=\"gallery-row\" style=\"width: 1140px;
