Recibi\u00f3 la matr\u00edcula argentina LV-ADO y a partir de 1950 vol\u00f3 con los colores de Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas, hasta 1962 cuando fue desprogramado y puesto a la venta.<\/p>\n<p>Fue en aquel a\u00f1o que asumi\u00f3 la comandancia de la Fuerza A\u00e9rea Paraguaya el entonces Teniente Coronel DEM Adri\u00e1n Jara, quien con varios oficiales de dicha fuerza prepararon un proyecto de creaci\u00f3n de una empresa a\u00e9rea que se llamar\u00eda L\u00edneas A\u00e9reas Paraguayas (LAP).<\/p>\n<p>El proyecto fue aprobado por el Poder Ejecutivo de Paraguay y dados los contactos de Jara en Argentina (Se hab\u00eda formado como piloto de caza en los N.A. El LV-ADO recibi\u00f3 el serial T-45. El 18 de marzo de 1963, mediante el Decreto-Ley Nro. 337, se cre\u00f3 LAP y los tres Convair se transfirieron a dicha empresa a\u00e9rea.<\/p>\n<p>El T-45 recibi\u00f3 la matr\u00edcula civil ZP-CDO y fue bautizado con el nombre de <em>\u201cGeneral Bernardino Caballero\u201d <\/em>(H\u00e9roe de la Guerra contra la Triple Alianza). Ese mismo mes, el ZP-CDO tripulado por los Capitanes PAM Manuel Insaurralde y Ra\u00fal Calvet fue llevado en vuelo a los Estados Unidos, con escalas en Antofagasta, Lima, Panam\u00e1, Managua y M\u00e9rida, con destino final Miami. En dicha ciudad, la firma <em>American Airmotive<\/em> estuvo a cargo de realizar una inspecci\u00f3n general de estructura y motores, se le cambi\u00f3 el tren de aterrizaje para elevar la capacidad de carga a 15.674 kilos, se le instal\u00f3 un radar meteorol\u00f3gico <em>Bendix RDR-10<\/em> y se actualizaron los equipos de radio y comunicaci\u00f3n. DEM Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Arga\u00f1a (piloto), el Tcnel. PAM Epifanio Cardozo (copiloto), el Suboficial MAM Juan Pires (ingeniero de vuelo), el Suboficial Jos\u00e9 Moscarda (Radio operador) y las azafatas Felicitas Mattosh, N\u00e9lida Vergara y Zaida Fern\u00e1ndez. Iba tambi\u00e9n en el vuelo el Tcnel. DEM Adri\u00e1n Jara, Comandante de la Fuerza A\u00e9rea Paraguaya y Presidente del Directorio de LAP, adem\u00e1s de personalidades civiles, militares y diplom\u00e1ticas del Paraguay, todos invitados especiales. Epifanio Cardozo (piloto), Capit\u00e1n PAM Ra\u00fal Calvet (copiloto), el Suboficial Fernando Arr\u00faa (ingeniero de vuelo), el Suboficial Marcial Qui\u00f1\u00f3nez (radio operador) y las tres mismas azafatas antes mencionadas.<\/p>\n<p>El ZP-CDO fue el Convair que m\u00e1s larga vida operativa tuvo en LAP, pues otro de ellos se destruy\u00f3 en el accidente en Ezeiza en 1967 y el tercero en un accidente en tierra en 1969. El ZP-CDO vol\u00f3 a todos los destinos originales de LAP entre 1963 y 1969, cuando fueron incorporados los tres Lockheed L-188C Electra comprados a Eastern Airlines a fines de 1968. A partir de entonces, el ZP-CDO se utiliz\u00f3 como aeronave de refuerzo. El Comandante Ram\u00f3n Dardo Guerra, con muy buen tino, decidi\u00f3 regresar a Salta, donde aterrizaron normalmente. Luego de unas reparaciones, la aeronave regres\u00f3 sin pasajeros a Asunci\u00f3n y el directorio de LAP decidi\u00f3 su desactivaci\u00f3n definitiva.<\/p>\n<p>Fue a partir de entonces que esta aeronave languideci\u00f3 por casi medio siglo a la intemperie, siendo v\u00edctima de rapi\u00f1ajes indiscriminados, desapareciendo pr\u00e1cticamente todo su interior, asientos, instrumentos y diversas partes met\u00e1licas, incluidas los pasamanos de la escalera rebatible. Tambi\u00e9n se robaron las dos puertas de emergencia del lado derecho.<\/p>\n<p>A principios de los a\u00f1os 2000, el entonces Presidente de TAM-Mercosur orden\u00f3 su limpieza y nueva pintura al ZP-CDO. Se cubrieron las aberturas de las dos puertas de emergencia del lado derecho con chapas de metal, quedando la aeronave en condiciones presentables. Es as\u00ed que paulatinamente fueron integrando dicha comisi\u00f3n el que suscribe estas l\u00edneas en calidad de historiador aeron\u00e1utico, el Comandante de la FAP General del Aire Juan Pablo Paredes Gonz\u00e1lez, el Presidente de la DINAC (Direcci\u00f3n Nacional de Aeron\u00e1utica Civil) Ingeniero F\u00e9lix Kanazawa, adem\u00e1s de los Sres. La restauraci\u00f3n del interior llevar\u00e1 mucho m\u00e1s tiempo, ya que hay que reconstruir toda la cabina de pasajeros y la de pilotaje. Se est\u00e1 procediendo ahora al cambio del piso de la cabina de pasajeros.<\/p>\n<p>La comisi\u00f3n est\u00e1 actualmente en la b\u00fasqueda de aeronaves Convair abandonados en pa\u00edses sudamericanos, de manera a poder conseguir ciertas partes que se utilizar\u00e1n en la restauraci\u00f3n del ZP-CDO, incluyendo la escalera rebatible, asientos de para los tripulantes de cabina, asientos de pasajeros, equipo de radio de la \u00e9poca, panel de instrumentos e instrumentos de la \u00e9poca.<\/p>\n<p>La restauraci\u00f3n del ZP-CDO ser\u00e1 para exposici\u00f3n est\u00e1tica y ser\u00e1 la primera aeronave de un futuro museo de aviaci\u00f3n.
