(FAA) la defend\u00eda a capa y espada, la otra mitad de la instituci\u00f3n quer\u00eda demoler la f\u00e1brica de aviones de C\u00f3rdoba y volcar su presupuesto a la compra de aeronaves de origen Pucar\u00e1 y ocho meses antes de su primer vuelo, un <strong>OV-10 Bronco<\/strong> norteamericano visitara nuestro pa\u00eds y otros pa\u00edses de la regi\u00f3n en gira de 22\/11\/1968).<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>El aparato en cuesti\u00f3n, el quinto OV-10A aeronaval de serie (<em>Bureau Number <\/em>155394, c\/n 305-5), visit\u00f3 nuestro pa\u00eds entre noviembre y diciembre de 1968 patrocinado por <strong>Aerotransportes Wollkopf<\/strong>, empresa de taxi a\u00e9reo y representaciones aeron\u00e1uticas con oficinas en Buenos Aires y base de operaciones en el Aeroparque capitalino y que, seg\u00fan fuentes europeas, en aquel entonces gerenciaba el brigadier (retirado) y ex Secretario de Estado de Aeron\u00e1utica, <strong>Mario Romanelli<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>El Bronco lleg\u00f3 a nuestro pa\u00eds tripulado por <strong>Edward \u201cEd\u201d Gillespie<\/strong>, jefe de pilotos de prueba de la <strong>Columbus Division<\/strong> de <strong>North American Rockwell<\/strong> en Columbus (Ohio), quien estuvo acompa\u00f1ado durante la gira por el comandante <strong>Alfredo M. Torinetti<\/strong>, piloto de combate de la FAA.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan recortes de la \u00e9poca, el aparato fue exhibido en Aeroparque el domingo 22 de noviembre por la ma\u00f1ana, circunstancia en la que realiz\u00f3 <em>\u00abvuelos rasantes, picadas y otras pruebas de destreza\u00bb<\/em> provocando la suspensi\u00f3n de vuelos comerciales en ese aeropuerto por 10 minutos.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan un cronista que cubri\u00f3 el evento para un diario capitalino, el aparato impresion\u00f3 favorablemente a los militares argentinos presentes, entre los que se encontraba el Jefe de Estado Mayor del Comando de Operaciones A\u00e9reas de la FAA, brigadier <strong>Carlos W. Pastor<\/strong>, <em>\u00abpor su f\u00e1cil maniobrabilidad y r\u00e1pido ascenso en recorrido corto\u00bb<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>En la cuna del Pucar\u00e1<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>En una clara muestra de arrojo pol\u00edtico y comercial, los promotores del Bronco llevaron el demostrador hasta C\u00f3rdoba, donde en aquel entonces se trabajaba febrilmente en la construcci\u00f3n del prototipo A-X2.<\/p>\n<p>La f\u00e1brica cordobesa se encontraba en medio de una compleja transici\u00f3n, ya que a principios de 1968 hab\u00eda sido puesta bajo completo control militar y a finales de ese a\u00f1o se transformar\u00eda en el <strong>\u00c1rea de Material C\u00f3rdoba<\/strong> (AMC), subordinada al Comando de Material de la FAA.<\/p>\n<p>El 3 de diciembre por la ma\u00f1ana, se realiz\u00f3 en el AMC una exhibici\u00f3n en la que los observadores presentes quedaron nuevamente impactados por su reducido radio de giro, <em>\u00abideal para un avi\u00f3n CO-IN\u00bb<\/em>, FAA y que para ello contaban con el apoyo de sectores internos del arma.<\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n es claro que jugaban con ventaja por el menor grado de avance del programa argentino: En momentos en que todav\u00eda no exist\u00eda siquiera un prototipo del Pucar\u00e1, el OV-10A llevaba m\u00e1s de un a\u00f1o en producci\u00f3n y seis meses de operaci\u00f3n en el Sudeste Asi\u00e1tico.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#_ftnref1\" name=\"_ftn1\"><\/a>Casualmente, ser\u00eda all\u00ed el sitio donde nuestro visitante terminar\u00eda sus d\u00edas: El 29 de octubre de 1971, mientras cumpl\u00eda una misi\u00f3n CO-IN pr\u00f3ximo a la costa de la provincia de Vinh Binh, fue alcanzado por fuego enemigo y cay\u00f3 al mar, mientras prestaba servicio con el escuadr\u00f3n aeronaval de ataque liviano VAL-4 \u00abBlack Ponies\u00bb, con asiento en Binh Tuy, desde principios de 1970.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_41779\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-41779\" style=\"width: 1024px\"
