Conocieron muchas variantes, pero el modelo generalizado en el momento en que surgieron los aviones consist\u00eda en un vapor mixto para carga y pasajeros. La primera se transportaba a granel o en bultos independientes, porque no exist\u00edan los contenedores ni nada por el estilo, y el pasaje estaba dividido en tres clases, la primera, que buscaba ser tan suntuosa como un hotel de lujo, la segunda, que no ten\u00eda mucho p\u00fablico o no exist\u00eda, porque las clases medias no viajaban, y la tercera, para emigrantes, que ocupaban salas comunes para varones o mujeres, con muy pocas comodidades. La duraci\u00f3n de los viajes se med\u00eda en semanas y, en consecuencia, el transportista alimentaba a los pasajeros durante la traves\u00eda y brindaba otros servicios seg\u00fan las clases, incluso el de polic\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>A partir de los a\u00f1os treinta del siglo pasado los aviones se animaron a plantear itinerarios largos, para lo que debieron construirse m\u00e1quinas m\u00e1s confortables y desarrollar una red de escalas que eran, salvando las distancias, algo parecido a las salas VIP actuales, porque brindaban a los pasajeros comodidades que no se pod\u00edan dar a bordo. Los primeros pasajeros a\u00e9reos fueron unos pocos funcionarios y hombres de negocios, que priorizaban la velocidad sin medir precio ni confort. El gran volumen transportado, por muchos a\u00f1os, fue el correo. Los pasajes eran caros.<\/p>\n<p>Las rutas a\u00e9reas estaban definidas por la geopol\u00edtica de las grandes potencias, y los que volaban eran siendo funcionarios y comerciantes. El turismo intercontinental por aire era m\u00ednimo.<\/p>\n<p>Las cosas cambiaron con el fin de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, porque la oferta de pasajes a\u00e9reos se multiplic\u00f3 de golpe y los vuelos, en aviones m\u00e1s r\u00e1pidos, se hicieron m\u00e1s llevaderos. Lentamente fueron apareciendo nuevos grupos de pasajeros, siendo el m\u00e1s destacado el de los turistas acomodados. Este aviso fue publicado en <em>La Prensa<\/em> del 13 de enero de 1952.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A partir de entonces comenz\u00f3 un vuelco, lento pero persistente, de pasajeros que se dejaron seducir por la velocidad de los viajes a\u00e9reos que permit\u00edan hacer un tour de semanas a destinos lejanos, incluyendo el tiempo de viaje, algo que en buque requer\u00eda meses. El viaje mar\u00edtimo se convirti\u00f3 en una vacaci\u00f3n dentro de la vacaci\u00f3n, pero s\u00f3lo al alcance de quienes tuvieran mucho tiempo libre para viajar, un grupo cada vez m\u00e1s reducido. Las tres clases desaparecieron, y las naves se hicieron mixtas, con un reducido pasaje de primera y mucha carga.<\/p>\n<p>Al tiempo que los aviones se hac\u00edan cada vez m\u00e1s r\u00e1pidos, los viajes de superficie se convirtieron en una sucesi\u00f3n ininterrumpida de atracciones y festejos.
