La Matanza a Ohio (4\/5): La transferencia a los EE.UU."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Su cercana vinculaci\u00f3n con la Aviaci\u00f3n Naval permiti\u00f3 a la Escuela \u201cJorge Newbery\u201d acceder a algunos ejemplares dados de baja para la instrucci\u00f3n de los futuros t\u00e9cnicos aeron\u00e1uticos, entre ellos un Grumman Duck, un SNJ-5 Texan y nuestro bombardero Martin 139WAN.<\/p>\n<p>Si bien no hab\u00eda certeza acerca de cu\u00e1l era el Martin recibido por el instituto, hoy sabemos que se trat\u00f3 del c\/n 715 identificado originalmente como 2-B-1 (sin matr\u00edcula naval), uno de los que integraron la Escuadrilla Aeronaval de Bombardeo de la Escuadra Aeronaval N\u00ba 2 y que, al disolverse la misma en 1944, fueron transferidos a Punta Indio.<\/p>\n<p>En 1947 fue rematriculado <strong>0080\/3-B-6<\/strong> en reemplazo del Martin que llevaba inicialmente esa caracter\u00edstica y fue destruido en 1939.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_44015\" 1970).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Hab\u00eda llegado al pa\u00eds en noviembre de 1937 a bordo del buque S\/S Rugeley y fue desactivado en 1949 con 1.297:30 horas de vuelo.<\/p>\n<p>En la d\u00e9cada de 1960, autoridades del <em>USAF Museum<\/em> tomaron conocimiento de la existencia de un Martin en la Argentina \u2013precisamente, el ubicado en la Escuela Industrial\u2013 y a partir de ah\u00ed se inici\u00f3 un proceso tendiente a su adquisici\u00f3n y traslado a los Estados Unidos.<\/p>\n<p>Finalmente, las negociaciones llevaron a la sanci\u00f3n y promulgaci\u00f3n de la ley \u201cde facto\u201d N\u00ba 18.719 del 30 de junio de 1970 que, firmada por el entonces presidente de la Naci\u00f3n, general Roberto Marcelo Levingston, se compon\u00eda de dos art\u00edculos:<\/p>\n<figure avi\u00f3n Martin B-10, en el estado en que se encuentra, al Gobierno de los Estados Unidos de Am\u00e9rica, con destino al Museo de su Fuerza A\u00e9rea ubicado en la Base Wright Patterson.<\/p>\n<p>Art.2\u00ba.- El Poder Ejecutivo Nacional queda autorizado para coordinar con las autoridades estadounidenses las medidas necesarias para que el avi\u00f3n citado en el art\u00edculo 1\u00ba de esta Ley, <strong>conserve en forma permanente las insignias de la Aviaci\u00f3n Naval pertenecientes a la Armada Argentina<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Si bien la transferencia fue a t\u00edtulo gratuito, los estadounidenses habr\u00edan entregado a cambio algunos elementos como material did\u00e1ctico.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_44018\" Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p>Una vez ah\u00ed, fue transportado por elementos de la Guardia Nacional A\u00e9rea de Minnesota hasta la Base A\u00e9rea Kelly, en San Antonio (Texas).<\/p>\n<p>All\u00ed, su recuperaci\u00f3n qued\u00f3 a cargo del 96\u00ba Escuadr\u00f3n de Mantenimiento de la Reserva de la USAF, donde fue impecablemente restaurado entre 1973 y 1976.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_44020\" Base Kelly fue durante d\u00e9cadas y, en especial, desde la Segunda Guerra Mundial, el principal centro de reparaci\u00f3n y mantenimiento de aeronaves de la Fuerza A\u00e9rea estadounidense hasta su cierre parcial a principios de los a\u00f1os 2000.<\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan testimonios del personal de mantenimiento, el avi\u00f3n lleg\u00f3 en un muy mal estado: A estar por las declaraciones del sargento John Broderick a la revista institucional Airman: \u201c<em>Estaba en tal mal estado que casi llor\u00e9 cuando vi el avi\u00f3n por primera vez<\/em>\u201d: Ten\u00eda abolladuras, agujeros, corrosi\u00f3n, falta de piezas y partes de tela destruida.<\/p>\n<p>Para cumplir su objetivo, los restauradores debieron reconstruir elementos como partes de aluminio corrugado, el tren de aterrizaje de la historia de nuestra Fuerza A\u00e9rea es profundamente apreciado por la Fuerza A\u00e9rea y por el gran n\u00famero de visitantes del museo<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>En 1976, el Martin fue formalmente ubicado en las instalaciones del museo y, como se puede verificar por una fotograf\u00eda tomada en la ocasi\u00f3n, que muestra al equipo de restauraci\u00f3n delante de la m\u00e1quina, desde un principio fue pintado con los colores azul y amarillo de preguerra del US Army Air Corps en homenaje al hist\u00f3rico viaje Washington-Alaska de 1934.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_44022\"
