Esto hace que cualquier ahorro en cualquier rubro \u2013 mantenimiento, combustible, tiempo en tierra \u2013 sea r\u00e1pidamente adoptado en las aeronaves de su flota.<\/p>\n<p>Es as\u00ed que los Winglets, en poco menos de 20 a\u00f1os, pasaron a ser una parte indivisible de las aeronaves de cada aerol\u00ednea, y cada nuevo modelo que se incorporaba a la flota ya ven\u00eda con sus alas con Winglets instalados de f\u00e1brica. Ya no eran algo opcional, sino normal.<\/p>\n<p>Veamos a continuaci\u00f3n una serie de gr\u00e1ficos y tablas que muestran a las claras el impacto econ\u00f3mico positivo que signific\u00f3 para las aerol\u00edneas. Una lista de puntos sobresalientes que significaron un beneficio para estas es la siguiente:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ahorro de combustible.<\/li>\n<li>Mejora en el MTOW.<\/li>\n<li>Mejora en la relaci\u00f3n payload \/ alcance.<\/li>\n<li>Reducci\u00f3n de ruido.<\/li>\n<li>Reducci\u00f3n en el empuje m\u00e1ximo de despegue.<\/li>\n<li>Reducci\u00f3n de los tiempos de espera en calles de rodaje entre una aeronave y la que ya despeg\u00f3.<\/li>\n<li>Reducci\u00f3n de las vibraciones en las alas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Ahorro de combustible<\/strong>.<\/h3>\n<p>Resulta inmediato este dato ya que, el efecto de disminuci\u00f3n de los v\u00f3rtices en las puntas de las alas, y la consecuente dr\u00e1stica reducci\u00f3n de la resistencia inducida, resultan en una menor resistencia al avance total, permitiendo alcanzar las altitudes y velocidades de crucero con menos potencia, y, por ende, con menos consumo de combustible. En el grafico siguiente se hace un comparativo del porcentaje de ahorro de combustible en una aerol\u00ednea, a medida que va reemplazando aeronaves con alas convencionales por nuevas con Winglets. Esto permite a las aerol\u00edneas ofrecer nuevas rutas con las mismas aeronaves, dado el mayor alcance posible. Como la <strong><em>payload<\/em><\/strong> (carga paga, es decir, la carga \u00fatil que genera ingresos a la aerol\u00ednea) est\u00e1 relacionada con el alcance de la aeronave, resulta inmediato una mejora en esta relaci\u00f3n. Esto en el pasado no era un factor cr\u00edtico, por el creciente tr\u00e1fico a\u00e9reo, sumado a la creciente densidad poblacional alrededor de los aeropuertos, y la vara cada vez m\u00e1s alta de las regulaciones medioambientales, hicieron que esto no sea un tema sin importancia; sino todo lo contrario.
