Arlequ\u00edn volador de Calder<\/b>: Douglas DC-8 #45899"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Vamos a conocer la historia de un Douglas DC-8, que aparte de ser el eterno rival del Boeing 707, destacaba por tener una decoraci\u00f3n muy particular.<\/p>\n<p>A pedido de Braniff International, el artista <strong>Alexander Calder<\/strong> dise\u00f1\u00f3 un esquema multicolor al que llam\u00f3 <em><strong>\u201cFlying Colors of South America\u201d<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Origen: Long Beach, California<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Los DC-8 Serie 60 (-61, -62 y -63) eran las versiones alargadas de este avi\u00f3n, siendo la longitud del -62 de 47,98 metros (9,14 metros m\u00e1s corto que los otros dos).<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_53781\" mayor, 11.500 km (6.210 NM).<\/p>\n<p>Nuestro protagonista era un DC-8-62 de 152 plazas propulsado por 4 turbinas JT3D-3B, n\u00famero de construcci\u00f3n 45899 y n\u00famero de l\u00ednea 304, entregado a Braniff International el 29\/09\/1967, que lo utiliz\u00f3 hasta el 31\/10\/1983.<\/p>\n<p>En 1973, Braniff se acerc\u00f3 al artista Alexander Calder para pintar un avi\u00f3n de su flota para honrar su arte y celebrar el 25 aniversario de las operaciones de Braniff en Centro y Sudam\u00e9rica.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_53783\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-53783\" d\u00edas, bajo la supervisi\u00f3n del artista, en los talleres de Braniff en Dallas (TX).<\/p>\n<p>Vol\u00f3 por primera vez con el esquema multicolor el 02\/11\/1973.<\/p>\n<p>Esta pintura estos colores particulares hasta 1979 y se considera una referencia en t\u00e9rminos de esquemas de pintura especiales.<\/p>\n<p>Luego fue operado por Rich International Airways, que era principalmente una aerol\u00ednea ch\u00e1rter y de carga con base en Miami, Florida (EE. movimiento perceptible para el espectador o que depende del movimiento para su efecto).<\/p>\n<p>Realiz\u00f3 pinturas, grabados, escenograf\u00edas, carteles, tapices, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Su obra m\u00e1s importante son las \u201cNubes Flotantes\u201d, estructuras colgantes que se encuentran en el Aula Magna de la Universidad Ciudad de Caracas (Venezuela), fabricadas en metal y madera de varios
