Opera a cientos de destinos en todo el mundo y canaliza viajeros de ciudades de m\u00e1s de 130 pa\u00edses a trav\u00e9s de su centro principal en el Aeropuerto de Estambul (IST). A partir de junio de 2024, la aerol\u00ednea opera vuelos regulares a m\u00e1s de 350 destinos en Europa, Asia, Ocean\u00eda, \u00c1frica y Am\u00e9rica. Turqu\u00eda mantiene relaciones extremadamente negativas con relativamente pocos pa\u00edses, lo que significa que hay pocos lugares donde Turkish Airlines tenga prohibido volar. La aerol\u00ednea comenz\u00f3 operando una peque\u00f1a flota de aviones Curtiss, Junkers y Tupolev, y para 1947, la aerol\u00ednea hab\u00eda comenzado a expandir su red internacional con sus primeros vuelos a Atenas, Nicosia, Beirut y El Cairo. Para 1956, la aerol\u00ednea hab\u00eda comenzado su reorganizaci\u00f3n, operando ahora bajo el nombre de la IATA, T\u00fcrk Hava Yollar\u0131 A.O. British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) adquiri\u00f3 una participaci\u00f3n del 6,5% y la aerol\u00ednea colabor\u00f3 \u200b\u200bcon esta predecesora de Turkish Airlines de diversas maneras.<\/p>\n<p>La aerol\u00ednea present\u00f3 su primer avi\u00f3n a reacci\u00f3n, el McDonnell Douglas DC-9, en 1967, al que le siguieron poco despu\u00e9s los Boeing 707 y los Douglas DC-10. Sin embargo, las d\u00e9cadas de 1980 y 1990 pasar\u00edan a la historia como una \u00e9poca dif\u00edcil para la aerol\u00ednea. La aerol\u00ednea enfrentaba problemas de servicio, la imposibilidad de que sus vuelos llegaran a tiempo y la falta de capacidades operativas fiables, lo que significaba que los pasajeros a menudo se quedaban sin un vuelo conveniente.<\/p>\n<p>A mediados de la d\u00e9cada de 1990, Turkish Airlines operaba una flota en r\u00e1pido crecimiento, que inclu\u00eda aviones Airbus A310 y Boeing 727. Como se mencion\u00f3 anteriormente, la aerol\u00ednea se uni\u00f3 a la Star Alliance internacional en 2008, consolid\u00e1ndose como una importante aerol\u00ednea con tradici\u00f3n en los mercados a\u00e9reos de Europa, \u00c1frica y Asia. La aerol\u00ednea atraves\u00f3 dificultades inmediatamente despu\u00e9s del intento de golpe de Estado en Turqu\u00eda en 2016, que result\u00f3 en la prohibici\u00f3n temporal de vuelos a Estados Unidos, lo que le ocasion\u00f3 importantes p\u00e9rdidas financieras.<\/p>\n<p>En 2020, Turkish Airlines comenz\u00f3 a transferir sus operaciones internacionales del Aeropuerto Sabiha G\u00f6k\u00e7en (SAW), m\u00e1s peque\u00f1o, a su filial de bajo coste AnadoluJet, que pronto se convirti\u00f3 en una aerol\u00ednea independiente en 2023, propiedad de la propia aerol\u00ednea de bandera. En 2024, la red de la aerol\u00ednea continu\u00f3 expandi\u00e9ndose, con nuevos vuelos a S\u00eddney, Santiago de Chile y Bengasi, Libia. Excepto Embraer, la compa\u00f1\u00eda turca tienes casi de todo.
