Uno de ellos fue habilitar la ruta Madrid &#8211; Amsterdam.<\/p>\n<p>En esos a\u00f1os Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas operaba desde Madrid vuelos a Frankfurt, Paris-Charles de Gaulle y Zurich, que generaban p\u00e9rdidas. \u00a0No pod\u00edamos operar en directo esos destinos porque el 747 200 no ten\u00eda la suficiente autonom\u00eda para alcanzar esos aeropuertos.<\/p>\n<p>Si bien ten\u00edamos el derecho para ejercer la quinta o sexta libertad, seg\u00fan como lo ponderemos, al no tener una frecuencia diaria nuestra competitividad era m\u00ednima, incluso ofreciendo tarifas promocionales.<\/p>\n<p>Pues bien, explicar\u00e9 porqu\u00e9 agregu\u00e9 Amsterdam.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MAD-AMS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>No recuerdo el mes, creo que fue en marzo o abril de 1984, el embajador de Israel en Argentina nos invit\u00f3 a una cena en su departamento en la calle Beruti, entre Pueyrred\u00f3n y Larrea, fui con mi ahora ex esposa y Jose Chalen y Alicia, su mujer.\u00a0Estuvo presente tambi\u00e9n un representante de \u201cEl Al\u201d la l\u00ednea a\u00e9rea israel\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p>La idea de volar a Israel, creo que era un objetivo de Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas, pero dif\u00edcil de concretar. \u00a0En alg\u00fan momento, la canciller\u00eda a cargo del ministro Dante Caputo, nos hab\u00eda planteado la posibilidad de establecer esa ruta, desde Madrid o Roma.<\/p>\n<p>En esa cena surgi\u00f3 la posibilidad de operar esa ruta en acuerdo de \u201cpool\u201d, hoy seria c\u00f3digo compartido, con \u201cEl Al\u201d v\u00eda Amsterdam.<\/p>\n<p>Por esa raz\u00f3n, tom\u00e9 la decisi\u00f3n de extender uno de nuestros vuelos desde Madrid hasta la capital holandesa habilitando esa ruta. El llamado \u201ctr\u00e1fico \u00e9tnico\u201d garantizaba una ocupaci\u00f3n promedio \u00f3ptima.<\/p>\n<p>Nuestra credibilidad, no solo la de Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas estaba en duda, como lo est\u00e1 hoy, y consider\u00e9 imprescindible demostrar que cumplir\u00edamos con nuestra palabra.<\/p>\n<p>Finalmente, el proyectado acuerdo nunca se concret\u00f3 y la ruta fue un fracaso total.\u00a0Paradojalmente, d\u00edas pasados en un programa de TV se exhib\u00eda como m\u00e9rito esa ruta, hoy desactivada.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Complicaciones en Antofagasta<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n fue un error utilizar un avi\u00f3n de la flota 727 en la ruta Aeroparque\u00a0 &#8211; Miami\u00a0 con escalas intermedias en Jujuy,\u00a0 Quito y Bogot\u00e1, como lo hac\u00edan algunas l\u00edneas norteamericanas en rutas por el Pac\u00edfico, con escalas en Santigo de Chile, Lima, Quito y Bogot\u00e1.<\/p>\n<p>Ten\u00edamos derecho de quinta libertad, pero de esa ruta solo funcion\u00f3 un tramo Quito &#8211; Aeroparque, dado que hab\u00eda una colonia uruguaya en Ecuador, que le permit\u00eda acortar la duraci\u00f3n de su viaje a Montevideo.<\/p>\n<p>Ese vuelo se inaugur\u00f3 el 25 de mayo de 1984. La empresa Shell acept\u00f3 que pagara la carga con mi tarjeta de cr\u00e9dito personal American Express, as\u00ed que dije: \u201c\u00a1<em>Llenen el tanque!<\/em>\u201d.
