Te\u00f3ricamente el n\u00famero de pasajeros es enorme, el mercado a\u00e9reo interno brasile\u00f1o es el quinto m\u00e1s grande del mundo, y cuenta con una clase media en crecimiento con niveles de ingresos cada vez mayores. Y all\u00ed est\u00e1 la clave, en esa floreciente clase media.<\/p>\n<p>En teor\u00eda el mercado est\u00e1 creciendo con m\u00e1s pasajeros que pueden costearse viajar en avi\u00f3n, A su vez, las aerol\u00edneas est\u00e1n registrando un n\u00famero creciente de brasile\u00f1os se est\u00e1n inscribiendo en programas de fidelizaci\u00f3n y est\u00e1n dispuestos a invertir en productos \u201cpremium\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Pero el mercado tambi\u00e9n se caracteriza por el bajo n\u00famero de viajes de pasajeros al a\u00f1o, la importante, y persistente, deuda de las aerol\u00edneas locales y las cargas regulatorias e impositivas.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Mucho potencial, pocos viajeros<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Los brasile\u00f1os promedian solo un viaje en avi\u00f3n cada dos a\u00f1os. Muy poco para los est\u00e1ndares mundiales. Ese promedio anual per c\u00e1pita de 0,5 viajes a\u00e9reos es aproximadamente la mitad del de Chile, una quinta parte del de Estados Unidos y una novena parte del de Espa\u00f1a. El propio sector tur\u00edstico se ha encargado persistentemente de asustar a los turistas con la seguridad del pa\u00eds para ofrecer servicios m\u00e1s caros pero \u201cm\u00e1s seguros\u201d. Esa atmosfera artificial de inseguridad generalizada, que no es tal, no fomenta el boca a boca. Por esa y otras m\u00faltiples razones, el pa\u00eds solo recibi\u00f3 alrededor de 6 millones de turistas por v\u00eda a\u00e9rea en 2025 (igual que Puerto Rico y aproximadamente una novena parte del total de M\u00e9xico), a pesar de sus numerosas atracciones de fama mundial.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>El optimismo eterno<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Las principales aerol\u00edneas de Latinoam\u00e9rica, en particular Avianca, a trav\u00e9s de la alianza entre el Grupo Abra y la brasile\u00f1a GOL Linhas A\u00e9reas, y el Grupo LATAM Airlines, ven el mercado como una oportunidad \u00fanica. \u00bfQu\u00e9 otra cosa podr\u00edan decir?<\/p>\n<p>Tanto GOL como su rival Azul creen que pueden aprovechar al m\u00e1ximo el potencial de Brasil con balances reestructurados tras las reorganizaciones bajo el Cap\u00edtulo 11 de la ley de quiebras norteamericana.<\/p>\n<p>S\u00e3o Paulo-Guarulhos sigue siendo el mayor aeropuerto nacional de Brasil en t\u00e9rminos de cuota de asientos, representando el 14,2 % de la capacidad nacional en el primer trimestre de 2026, ligeramente por delante de S\u00e3o Paulo-Congonhas, con un 12 %<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a>. Al iniciar el primer trimestre, el grupo cuenta con una participaci\u00f3n del 38% en asientos dom\u00e9sticos en Brasil, seguido de GOL con un 33% y Azul con alrededor del 29%. Todas bastante juntas.<\/p>\n<p>En total, 136 aeropuertos en Brasil tienen vuelos dom\u00e9sticos programados, mientras que 19 aeropuertos ofrecen conectividad internacional. Aproximadamente la mitad de los asientos internacionales de Brasil se gestionan a trav\u00e9s de S\u00e3o Paulo-Guarulhos, siendo R\u00edo de Janeiro-El Gale\u00e3o la segunda mayor puerta de entrada internacional, con una participaci\u00f3n del 23,3%. LATAM lidera con fuerza la capacidad internacional en Brasil, con una participaci\u00f3n de mercado cercana al 70%.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Incertidumbre del mercado<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A pesar del optimismo sobre Brasil, tambi\u00e9n existen dificultades e incertidumbre. Para empezar, GOL sali\u00f3 de la reestructuraci\u00f3n del Cap\u00edtulo 11 a trav\u00e9s de un tribunal de quiebras estadounidense en 2025, y se espera que Azul salga de su reorganizaci\u00f3n del Cap\u00edtulo 11 en el primer trimestre de 2026. Ambas aerol\u00edneas deber\u00e1n demostrar que pueden evitar los obst\u00e1culos del pasado que las llevaron a buscar protecci\u00f3n de los acreedores en un tribunal de quiebras estadounidense.<\/p>\n<p>GOL sali\u00f3 del Cap\u00edtulo 11 con 900 millones de d\u00f3lares en liquidez y 1.900 millones de d\u00f3lares en financiaci\u00f3n de salida. Abra posee el 80% de GOL. Cuando GOL sali\u00f3 de la quiebra, Neuhauser afirm\u00f3 que la aerol\u00ednea se encontraba \u00aben una posici\u00f3n m\u00e1s competitiva y sostenible, con una s\u00f3lida base de liquidez, costos a\u00fan m\u00e1s competitivos, una deuda sustancialmente menor y una estructura fortalecida para aumentar su capacidad en los pr\u00f3ximos a\u00f1os\u00bb. Azul se prepara para salir del Cap\u00edtulo 11 tras haber recortado dr\u00e1sticamente m\u00e1s de 2 mil millones de d\u00f3lares en deuda. La legislaci\u00f3n, que tendr\u00eda que ser aprobada por el Senado brasile\u00f1o para entrar en vigor, podr\u00eda suponer un duro golpe para las ofertas de clase econ\u00f3mica premium, cuya demanda, seg\u00fan las aerol\u00edneas, crece en Brasil.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>El diamante sin pulir<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Con una poblaci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s de 200 millones de personas cada vez m\u00e1s dispuestas a gastar en viajes a\u00e9reos, Brasil es un mercado que las aerol\u00edneas consideran con un enorme potencial de crecimiento a pesar de estas dificultades.
