Southern Winds, una aerol\u00ednea de bandera argentina que oper\u00f3 entre 1996 y 2005 se present\u00f3 ante el p\u00fablico como una empresa joven, que volaba con aviones modernos distintos de los usuales en el mercado dom\u00e9stico (CRJ-200), y cuyo personal ten\u00eda la din\u00e1mica de la juventud.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Y la verdad es que los empleados de Southern Winds eran por lo general j\u00f3venes (e inexpertos). La experiencia y la madurez no eran un valor en esa empresa, pero el trato era \u201cpostmoderno\u201d.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Lo malo es que la aviaci\u00f3n es una actividad compleja, que requiere una formaci\u00f3n especial, sobre todo en los tripulantes y personal afectado a lo operativo. La desaparici\u00f3n de Southern Winds fue, entre otras cosas, probable consecuencia de errores en la selecci\u00f3n del personal.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Quienes hoy se denominan TCP por tripulantes de cabina de pasajeros, y antes se llamaron stewards hostesses, azafatas y auxiliares tienen una posici\u00f3n compleja en el imaginario de lo que es una l\u00ednea a\u00e9rea. Por un lado son una cara bonita, la sonrisa de la empresa hacia sus pasajeros, pero adem\u00e1s deben cargar con todas las complejidades de un servicio dif\u00edcil y hacerse cargo de toda la problem\u00e1tica de los pasajeros, que a veces es muy delicada. Est\u00e1n tanto para servir un caf\u00e9 cuanto para enfrentar situaciones extremas como un parto en el cielo o un borracho incontrolable.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">De m\u00e1s est\u00e1 decir que en caso de emergencia y evacuaci\u00f3n de la aeronave son quienes est\u00e1n en primera fila de la operaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">La selecci\u00f3n de este personal abarca muchos aspectos, lo que se complica porque la formaci\u00f3n espec\u00edfica que dan las academias suele no coincidir con las aspiraciones de los operadores, que muchas veces prefieren formar a su gente en la compa\u00f1\u00eda. La realidad es que muy pocas empresas argentinas piden TCPs con diploma del sistema educativo.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">En este universo, este aviso de Southern Winds publicado en Clar\u00edn del 3 de enero de 1999 es notable por el modo en que juegan ciertos valores, ya que se ofrece a las postulantes divertirse y trabajar duro en una empresa diferente, algo bastante lejano de lo que dice la teor\u00eda sobre la labor de las auxiliares de a bordo, que por lo general empiezan por poner requisitos como saber idiomas y nadar.
