Me viene a la memoria el Enola Gay, un Boeing B-29 bautizado as\u00ed en honor al nombre de la madre de su comandante, que se hizo famoso por haber arrojado la primera bomba at\u00f3mica sobre Hiroshima en agosto de 1945.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Pero, seg\u00fan pasan los a\u00f1os, las palabras pueden cambiar de significado y de valor. Hoy gay, en el mundo, es sin\u00f3nimo de homosexual, y por eso, a pesar de la aceptaci\u00f3n de las diversas preferencias de sexo que existen en nuestra sociedad, ser\u00eda poco probable que una aerol\u00ednea de bandera publicara un aviso proclamando a Buenos Aires como ciudad gay. Es una cuesti\u00f3n de costumbres, casi de delicadeza, pero fundamentalmente de mercado.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Este aviso lo public\u00f3 Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas en 1957 para promocionar a Buenos Aires como una ciudad alegre y festiva. No tengo m\u00e1s datos sobre el mismo. Evidentemente se public\u00f3 fuera del pa\u00eds, y como dato interesante puede observarse la tipograf\u00eda utilizada, que es distinta de la habitual de la compa\u00f1\u00eda en esos a\u00f1os. El tema de la uniformidad de imagen siempre fue dif\u00edcil de mantener para la empresa, y volveremos varias veces sobre el tema.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Con respecto a lo que hac\u00eda \u201cGay Beautiful\u201d a Buenos Aires la propuesta es muy conservadora, ya que apunta a cl\u00e1sicos como el obelisco, la Plaza San Mart\u00edn y el Congreso. Vistosos, pero poco originales. La imagen, tomada en Ezeiza, es una postal del Ministerio de Transportes hecha sobre una foto en blanco y negro, \u00abiluminada\u00bb, nombre que se usaba para designar a las fotos coloreadas a la acuarela, muy usadas en ese tiempo (imagen: archivo\u00a0 Pablo Luciano Potenze).<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"324\">\n<p align=\"justify\">Los Douglas DC-4 se usaron unos a\u00f1os antes en esas rutas, pero ya hab\u00edan sido radiados, salvo el que ilustra esta foto tomada en Ezeiza.
