El tema da para largu\u00edsimas discusiones, que en los \u00faltimos tiempos \u2014habida cuenta de las incomodidades que la seguridad ha impuesto en los aeropuertos\u2014 incluye como alternativa la decisi\u00f3n de no viajar.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Aunque no se mencione mucho, en la Argentina el gran competidor es el auto particular. Y a fuerza de ser sinceros, es un competidor que plantea serias, muy serias, ventajas en todos los tramos que pueden hacerse en una jornada, y vale para trayectos mucho m\u00e1s largos.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">El problema de fondo es que la gente no quiere volar, quiere viajar, que es algo mucho m\u00e1s complicado, porque incluye \u2014adem\u00e1s del traslado\u2014 la movilidad en el destino. Quien compra un viaje en avi\u00f3n, compra llegar muy r\u00e1pido desde un aeropuerto a otro, pero al llegar se acaban las ventajas, porque hasta la operaci\u00f3n imprescindible de salir del aeropuerto de destino (o llegar al de origen) puede ser algo complicado y caro.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Y, seg\u00fan el tipo de viaje que se pretenda hacer, la necesidad de movilidad flexible puede ser determinante de la necesidad de contar con un autom\u00f3vil en el destino.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">En un ambiente pudiente esto se soluciona f\u00e1cilmente alquilando un auto, pero para la clase media argentina esa soluci\u00f3n es muy cara. Y en 1970, cuando fue publicado este aviso, adem\u00e1s era muy escasa.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">As\u00ed las cosas, la opci\u00f3n de una inmensa mayor\u00eda era soportar las incomodidades de la ruta para aprovechar otras ventajas.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">ALA y Austral comprendieron este problema, y vieron claramente que el cliente objetivo era una familia de clase media que pod\u00eda pagar el viaje en avi\u00f3n \u2014eso no estaba en discusi\u00f3n\u2014 pero que necesitaba el auto. Entonces eligi\u00f3 proponer una alternativa que entonces era posible, mandar el auto por tren y viajar en avi\u00f3n. Era una jugada arriesgada, porque la tentaci\u00f3n de mandar el auto en tren y viajar en tren \u2014en esa \u00e9poca hab\u00eda camarotes\u2014 era un peligro, pero la apuesta se hizo.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Los ferrocarriles ofrec\u00edan el servicio, pero despu\u00e9s decidieron ir por todo convirtiendo el transporte de autos en un adicional que s\u00f3lo era accesible para pasajeros ferroviarios. Si vamos a ser estrictos, la propuesta en cuesti\u00f3n funcion\u00f3 (en rigor ya funcionaba) de otra manera, porque hab\u00eda un grupo que viajaba en auto al lugar de veraneo, dejaba a la se\u00f1ora y a los chicos, volv\u00eda a trabajar a Buenos Aires y hac\u00eda escapadas permanentes en avi\u00f3n. <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Este aviso fue publicado en <em>Primera Plana<\/em> el 15 de diciembre de 1970, en plena temporada de decisi\u00f3n de vacaciones. La cara y la expresi\u00f3n del gordito se llevan de parabienes con el texto referido a las molestias del viaje en auto, en una \u00e9poca en que las rutas y los autos eran mucho m\u00e1s limitados que los actuales. Un detalle no menor, el texto apela al tuteo, estrictamente al voseo, en el t\u00edtulo, algo que hoy es com\u00fan pero que entonces era raro. A los primeros les dec\u00edan \u201cHigienol\u201d, una marca de papel higi\u00e9nico que en ese entonces basaba su publicidad en que sus rollos ten\u00edan 74 metros (im\u00e1genes: BAC 1-11 fotos publicitarias repartidas por Austral.
