Est\u00e1 muy clara la divisi\u00f3n en tres partes, y tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1 muy claro que el ala est\u00e1 formada por una pala de h\u00e9lice que deja una estela. La cola es curiosa, porque no hay ning\u00fan pez cuya cola haga un rulo. Algunos dicen que es una cola de drag\u00f3n.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As\u00ed como las naciones tienen banderas y escudos, las ciencias sagradas tienen s\u00edmbolos y los caballeros medioevales escudos de armas, las l\u00edneas a\u00e9reas tambi\u00e9n tienen s\u00edmbolos, que hoy conocemos como isotipos o logotipos.<\/p>\n<p>Air France fue fundada en 1933. Fue la fusi\u00f3n de cuatro compa\u00f1\u00edas privadas preexistentes (Farman, CIDNA, Air Union y CGA) que formaron otra sociedad privada, pero con una participaci\u00f3n estatal del 25%. Vista desde afuera parec\u00eda estatal, pero no lo era.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\/gaceta\/wp-101\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/airfrance2.jpg?resize=150%2C147&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"147\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">La versi\u00f3n m\u00e1s probable del s\u00edmbolo original de Air France. Se ha simplificado reduciendo la cantidad de escamas y de estelas.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Como toda empresa moderna, deb\u00eda tener un s\u00edmbolo. No se preocup\u00f3 por hacer un nuevo dise\u00f1o, sino que adopt\u00f3 uno que usaba Air Orient, una empresa que volaba a la Cochinchina.<\/p>\n<p>El dibujo era una creaci\u00f3n muy compleja, formada por tres partes bien diferenciadas, un caballo (s\u00edmbolo de poder), un ala (s\u00edmbolo de la aviaci\u00f3n), y una cola de pescado (s\u00edmbolo de los hidroaviones que entonces se usaban para los vuelos transoce\u00e1nicos). Si bien se mira, el ala en realidad no es un ala, es una h\u00e9lice que girando deja una estela.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\/gaceta\/wp-101\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/airfrance3.jpg?resize=150%2C157&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"157\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Versi\u00f3n algo modificada del original. La h\u00e9lice es algo menos h\u00e9lice y las crines del caballo cambiaron. Este modelo todav\u00eda est\u00e1 en uso en algunas divisiones de la compa\u00f1\u00eda.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Este s\u00edmbolo fue bautizado por los usos y costumbres como La Crevette (el camar\u00f3n) o Hippocampe (hipocampo), y con el tiempo esos nombres quedaron en el imaginario de la empresa. Nadie pareci\u00f3 darse cuenta de que el hipocampo (t\u00e9cnicamente un pez) no tiene patas de ninguna naturaleza ni alas, y el camar\u00f3n (un crust\u00e1ceo), tiene una cabeza alineada con el cuerpo, patas muy distintas de las equinas, una cola sin ning\u00fan rulo y carece de alas.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\/gaceta\/wp-101\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/airfrance4.jpg?resize=150%2C143&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"143\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">La versi\u00f3n de 1975, que lleg\u00f3 con el Concorde. Los colores de la bandera francesa se imponen, y desaparece la pala de h\u00e9lice. Es curioso c\u00f3mo el ala est\u00e1 despegada del resto del animal.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>La forma result\u00f3 fuerte, y se mantuvo con muy peque\u00f1os cambios (sobre todo en el ala\/h\u00e9lice) hasta que lleg\u00f3 el Concorde, en 1975\/76. El jet supers\u00f3nico era una apuesta nacional de Francia, y un ser imaginario no serv\u00eda para sostener esa idea, por lo que se opt\u00f3 por un nuevo s\u00edmbolo, muy simple, inspirado en la bandera francesa, con forma de c\u00f3digo de barras (que en esa fecha no se conoc\u00edan). Pero la tradici\u00f3n se impuso, y el hipocampo pas\u00f3 a ser el s\u00edmbolo del grupo Air France y sigui\u00f3 pintado, aunque diminuto, en los aviones de la compa\u00f1\u00eda, aunque sufri\u00f3 un redise\u00f1o importante, en el que lo m\u00e1s notable fue que recibi\u00f3 los colores de la bandera y perdi\u00f3 la h\u00e9lice, innecesaria en la era del jet.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\/gaceta\/wp-101\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/airfrance5.jpg?resize=150%2C127&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"127\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">El s\u00edmbolo mutilado, sin la cola de pescado, y con alas y crines muy simplificados. Tuvo corta vida, pero estuvo pintado en los aviones.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A partir de este momento, Air France tuvo dos paquetes de emblemas, el tradicional figurativo, y el nuevo, con franjas que recordaban la bandera francesa.<\/p>\n<p>Hacia el cambio de siglo los dise\u00f1adores sintieron que deb\u00edan modificar nuevamente el s\u00edmbolo, y le sacaron de cuajo la cola de pescado. Ya no hab\u00eda hidroaviones.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.gacetaeronautica.com\/gaceta\/wp-101\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/airfrance6.jpg?resize=150%2C129&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"129\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">La \u00faltima versi\u00f3n del s\u00edmbolo, que recupera todos los elementos originales en un dise\u00f1o formalmente distinto. En los noventa ya hubo im\u00e1genes de este tipo que fueron muy poco usadas.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>En los a\u00f1os noventa aparecieron diversas formas muy libres de la insignia, que se usaron en los men\u00faes de primera clase y otras papeler\u00edas.<\/p>\n<p>Pero los acontecimientos fueron m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido que el dise\u00f1o gr\u00e1fico. Air France se asoci\u00f3 con KLM, en 2004, para dar lugar a un nuevo grupo, y a partir de ese momento hubo varios cambios en la gr\u00e1fica empresaria, que prefiri\u00f3 las formas abstractas.<\/p>\n<p>Pero el antiguo animal mitol\u00f3gico sobrevivi\u00f3. En 2009 (quiz\u00e1s antes) apareci\u00f3 una nueva versi\u00f3n del s\u00edmbolo, con una concepci\u00f3n totalmente nueva, pero con todos los elementos del original.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Imagen de portada:<\/strong> Todo un cl\u00e1sico de los a\u00f1os dorados del transporte a\u00e9reo.
