La misma tiene por fin exhibir p\u00fablicamente los trabajos realizados por alumnos y sus profesores, constituyendo una oportunidad \u00fanica para ver en funcionamiento las aeronaves que all\u00ed son utilizadas con fines did\u00e1cticos.<\/p>\n<p>En esta ocasi\u00f3n, la instituci\u00f3n cont\u00f3 con el apoyo de la <strong>Armada Argentina<\/strong> (ARA) que dispuso un llamativo stand compuesto por variados elementos entre los que se destacaban los accesorios individuales de supervivencia utilizados por los pilotos navales, misiles AM-39 Exocet, AIM-9B Sidewinder y varios modelos de cohetes. Tambi\u00e9n se hizo presente personal de la <strong>Aviaci\u00f3n de Ej\u00e9rcito<\/strong>, que present\u00f3 un interesante equipo para ensayos de metalograf\u00eda y un cami\u00f3n REO dotado de un laboratorio de ensayos no destructivos de materiales. Junto a los elementos aportado por dichas instituciones, se expusieron diversos trabajos realizados\u00a0 en el establecimiento; destac\u00e1ndose los relacionados con los motores de autom\u00f3viles y una peque\u00f1a turbina de modelismo.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Escuela t\u00e9cnica o \u00abmuseo interactivo\u00bb<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Entre las aeronaves observadas se encontraban dos planeadores <strong>Grunau Baby IIA<\/strong>, ambos con esquema de pintura blanco. El primero de ellos era LV-ECU y estaba suspendido del techo del sal\u00f3n principal. El segundo, sin matr\u00edcula, estaba situado dentro del aula anteriormente destinada como sala hist\u00f3rica y que, a diferencia de nuestra visita del 2003, permaneci\u00f3 cerrada al p\u00fablico (v\u00e9ase <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aeromilitaria.com.ar\/pista18\/vr\/notas\/a-2003\/0013haedo\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\">\u00abExpo Newbery 2003: Muestra viviente en Villa Luzuriaga\u00bb<\/a>). Este planeador tambi\u00e9n se encontraba suspendido del techo pero a diferencia del anterior solamente posee su ala izquierda debido a las reducidas dimensiones del sal\u00f3n. Por comentarios de los docentes de la instituci\u00f3n nos enteramos que la misma fue cedida por dicha empresa y trasladada en cami\u00f3n al \u201cNewbery\u201d, donde se lo arm\u00f3 parcialmente y repint\u00f3 en esquema de pintura plateado con cheatline azul y un escudo con los t\u00edtulos \u201cF-27 Fairchild\u201d aplicados solo en el lateral derecho. La aeronave, que carece de cono de nariz, motores, superficies m\u00f3viles e interiores y cuyas alas est\u00e1n situadas a un costado de la misma, parece destinada a servir como aula de capacitaci\u00f3n y para fines did\u00e1cticos en el ensayo de estructuras.<\/p>\n<p>En el patio tambi\u00e9n nos encontramos con el <strong>A-4Q Skyhawk<\/strong> 0654\/3-A-301, que luc\u00eda un esquema de pintura gris con un tono m\u00e1s claro que el original. El mismo se encontraba dividido en dos secciones, permitiendo observar al reactor Wright J-65 W-20. Al parecer, \u00e9ste se encontrar\u00eda en condiciones de funcionamiento pero no ser\u00eda puesto en marcha en dicha jornada. Otros elementos ausentes en el A-4 eran su sonda de reabastecimiento (que pudimos ver en el taller), los ca\u00f1ones Colt Mk.12 y algunas tapas de inspecci\u00f3n que dejaban expuestas las \u201centra\u00f1as\u201d del Skyhawk. Esta aeronave tiene el valor agregado de ser uno de los que en 1982 tuvo activa participaci\u00f3n durante la Guerra de Malvinas.<\/p>\n<p>Desde el patio accedimos al sector de talleres, donde las dem\u00e1s aeronaves estaban siendo puestas a punto para la puesta en marcha. El primer avi\u00f3n all\u00ed observado fue el reluciente <strong>C-45H Expeditor<\/strong> 0531\/6-G-14, antiguamente perteneciente a la Armada. El mismo exhib\u00eda un esquema de pintura en metal natural y blanco separados por filetes azul y celeste y, como estila la ARA, con los colores de la bandera nacional en las superficies m\u00f3viles del tim\u00f3n. Una particularidad a destacar eran los escudos aplicados por debajo de las ventanillas del piloto y copiloto: El de la EET N\u00ba 8 (lado derecho) y una llamativa caricatura del C-45H (lado izquierdo). Por comentario de los docentes tambi\u00e9n nos enteramos que tanto el T-28 como el C-45H habr\u00edan sido cedidas temporalmente por la Aviaci\u00f3n Naval como material did\u00e1ctico; por lo que las mismas deber\u00edan haber sido devueltas el a\u00f1o pasado para ser reemplazadas por otras. Pero el traslado no se habr\u00eda podido concretar debido a problemas presupuestarios. Tambi\u00e9n observamos al entrenador <strong>Prentice T.1<\/strong> E-350 que perteneciera a la Fuerza A\u00e9rea Argentina (FAA). El mismo se presentaba en esquema de pintura color aluminio con un llamativo \u00abshark mouth\u00bb y algunos escudos en los laterales frontales del fuselaje. Una particularidad de esta aeronave es su menor envergadura ya que no dispone de punteras alares.<\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n proveniente de la Fuerza A\u00e9rea se encontraba el <strong>Meteor F.4<\/strong> C-071, que presentaba un esquema de pintura camuflado en gris y verde con vientre en celeste (todos sus tonos eran ligeramente distintos a los originales). Esta aeronave se distingue de los dem\u00e1s \u00abGlosters\u00bb argentinos sobrevivientes por lucir detalles particulares. Tiene escudos a ambos lados del fuselaje por debajo de la cabina: A la derecha el escudo de la EET N\u00ba 8 y a la izquierda una caricatura del A-10 Warthog con la leyenda \u201cAviaci\u00f3n\u201d. Tambi\u00e9n se le pintaron t\u00edtulos \u201cGloster Meteor IV\u201d sobre fondo negro a ambos lados de la nariz y \u201cFuerza A\u00e9rea Argentina\u201d en la trompa (blancos) y en la parte superior del fuselaje (negros). Finalmente, conserva varias reminiscencias caracter\u00edsticas de los primeros Meteor que operaron en el pa\u00eds: La antena dorsal (que debi\u00f3 ser cambiada por otro modelo cuando uno de los pilotos perdi\u00f3 su pierna al chocar con una de estas tratando de abandonar la aeronave en vuelo) y los guardabarros del tren principal (que fueron abandonados cuando comenzaron a operar permanentemente en pistas asfaltadas). En el sector de talleres tambi\u00e9n pudimos observar un ultraliviano no identificado suspendido del techo y una interesante variedad de motores y elementos de distintas aeronaves.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>\u00a1Que se enciendan los motores!<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Promediando la tarde, se iniciaron los preparativos para la muy esperada puesta en marcha de las aeronaves mientras el p\u00fablico se hac\u00eda presente en gran cantidad. Para ello, el A-4Q fue desplazado desde el patio hacia los talleres y las aeronaves que se encontraban dentro de este fueron tomando su lugar lentamente en el patio. Ambos fueron acelerados en forma gradual y luego se procedi\u00f3 al encendido de las luces de navegaci\u00f3n. Esta demostraci\u00f3n se extendi\u00f3 por varios minutos y fue suspendida luego que el motor derecho comenzara a echar fuego por su escape; primero en forma intermitente y luego en forma permanente. Si bien las llamas fueron suprimidas gracias a la oportuna intervenci\u00f3n de un alumno equipado con matafuegos, se procedi\u00f3 al corte de ambos motores. Fue entonces que se pudo apreciar que de una de las h\u00e9lices derechas comenzaba a emanar gran cantidad de aceite.<\/p>\n<p>Posteriormente le toc\u00f3 el turno al T-28 que tambi\u00e9n fue acelerando en forma gradual, en solitario, hasta que se le sum\u00f3 el Prentice. Ambos aparatos permanecieron en marcha un per\u00edodo bastante prolongado; demostrando el buen funcionamiento de sus motores. En ambas oportunidades el p\u00fablico presente brind\u00f3 un gran aplauso para retribuir al enorme trabajo realizado por profesores y alumnos. El caso del Gloster Meteor, sin dudas el m\u00e1s esperado de la jornada, fue distinto. Ya que, si bien los alumnos estaban dispuestos a ponerlo en funcionamiento y en dos oportunidades iniciaron el procedimiento de puesta en marcha, se decidi\u00f3 que \u00e9sta se realizar\u00eda por la noche tras el acto de cierre de la exposici\u00f3n. Por esa raz\u00f3n, este corresponsal no pudo estar presente en la realizaci\u00f3n de la misma.<\/p>\n<p>Sin lugar a dudas, la Escuela \u00abJorge Newbery\u00bb se ha constituido en uno de los lugares m\u00e1s interesantes para la preservaci\u00f3n de aeronaves militares antiguas ya que tiene el raro privilegio de ser uno de los pocos donde las mismas son conservadas en condiciones de funcionamiento. Adem\u00e1s, la Expo Newbery ha logrado afianzarse durante los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os para convertirse en un leg\u00edtimo y cl\u00e1sico evento aeron\u00e1utico que no deja de sorprendernos gratamente a\u00f1o a a\u00f1o.
