After 35 years of military service in Poland, a MiG-15 two-seat trainer found its way into private hands in Argentina at the turn of the century. After a short and eventful career in a country not prepared for the “warbirds” business, it got to rest in Morón’s National Aeronautics Museum. Let’s take a look at the career of this distinct representative of the Soviet side of the Cold War.

Visiting A-517 in North Carolina in February 2020 gave us not only a chance to inspect a valuable piece of aviation history. We also were able to talk at large with its present owner to try and comprehend the ideas, ideals and frustrations he built around this interesting aircraft.
